I spoke with Ben on the phone the other night and he sounds like he is definitely having a lot of trouble with the concussion - I could barely understand him.

Everyone - please keep Ben in your thoughts.

Ben - please take care of yourself and quit worrying about everyone's equipment being at your house - it can all wait!

If your having issues you need to go back to the hospital period, thats what they do take care of issues. Dont make me fly down there and give you more issues :p

Alright, it took some doing (45 minutes of it) but I got that hard headed Ben to call 911 to get an ambulance to take him to the hospital. It really is serious as he is displaying symptoms that my wife the RN says are not good.

They just picked him up about five minutes ago.

He's going to call me when he gets settled in which probably won't be until they admit him and you know how long that can take.

I'll keep updates going as I get them.

    Thank you Joe.

I hope the hospital finds the cause of his symtoms he's still having or I guess the concusion caused alot of damage and swelling that just has to be monitored for a week or two or more.He is better off there for sure if something else happens suddenly.

That man sure didn't need this put in his already strained life.:(

Wow, I'm really shocked and saddened to hear of the lingering issues. Thanks so much Joe for convincing him to go back! That's definitely what he needs.

Ben - just focus on recovering, taking your time, and getting better. Which means focus on letting God do His stuff. I'm definitely praying for you.

Well that was a waste of time. They sent me home saying that there wasn't anything wrong with me. Any one that knows me knows that I am pig headed about seeing doctors. Something is still wrong with me. My bp was 190 over 100. Normally it is 130 over 80
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Ben, I'm still praying for you but you need to find a way to get admitted to the hospital again... this is serious. I don't know you much but I do know you have a couple youngsters that needs you for a long time. All the prayers are a good thing but you do need to do your part. Miracles does occurs through faith but also from me of good will and wisdom (God is expecting you to move so he can move). Please take this seriously. We all have our health issues and are reluctant to see doctors but when it is a must, we have to act accordingly.

God bless (and provide you the wisdom to do the right thing)!

On the phone with him now.

Alright, it seems that they ER did the minimum amount of diagnotics because he has no insurance. @#%%!%$%^%^%^Q@%^:mad::mad: Plus he said the doc had a cast on his leg and wasn't very attentive.

I cannot believe they sent him home and told him to follow up with his doctor!!!

They only took Xrays and even though he has weekness on his right side and his face is drooping somewhat, they sent him home. Xrays aren't going to show a damned thing! They should have done another CAT (CT) scan.

Finally get the hard headed goof to get himself some treatment and they just blow him off . . . how ****%Q@#^ frustrating this is!!!

He agreed to go the free clinic in his area tomorrow. I'll be hounding him.

I can't tell you how PO'd I am over this crap with the hospital.

    Joe,

thanks for convincing Ben to go to the hospital. The hospital dropped the ball though. He should follow up with the clinic or his own doctor.

Is there any one here or a neighbor that could check up on him at least once a day till he feels better?

THere must be at least a few polkies in that area. Hope he's getting plenty of rest and relaxation.

Guys,, if you are not considered an "emergency",, all a hospital is required to do is render immediate necessary care. I do not know what Ben has in the way of disability/medicaid/etc,,but the physician makes the call to admit-treat discharge(oversimplified).I know it sounds cruel and cold,, but it is called "Emergency" for a reason.

And if this is the same one that Ben left AMA from-- just sayin.

He was in the hospital initially once for this accident? And was he discharged or left AMA?

I know I'll probabally take a few hits on this and I really don't care,,,but,, you don't wanna get the label of "GOMER" (get out of my emergency room),,, every ED has them,,and yes,, you get em' in and out quick as you can,,and hope that none of their labs/x-rays result in an admission,, lots of folks think it's a hotel,, it ain't,,,also ,at least in Georgia,, if you leave AMA ,I believe that any third party payment is out the window.

I spoke with him 2 days ago when he called--Jerry probabally has the more recent local communications from him.I hope he does well.

George, I'm familiar with ER procedures and guidelines for the most part and I know they vary especially from State to State. I know you know your stuff being a hospital administrator and I respect that but IMHO he should have been admitted.

Despite the fact that he left AMA from the same hospital, he has a drooping right side of his face and weakness in his right side among other symptons. . . I don't have to be a doctor to know that there is something going on with his brain and that he should have been admitted.

What I really don't understand is why the State of Georgia won't put him on the Medicaid roles!?!

I just got off the phone with Ben and he's feeling better today. He's going to try to get a hold of Jerry and his ex to see if they can get him a ride to the free clinic. I hope bonehead doesn't use "feeling better" as an excuse to drag his feet on getting some followup for his sake.
