Rainy day in Boston

I have never been to London, but this is exactly how I imagine it. Gray. It's 56 degrees also, which seems too cold for this time of the year. Back home it's 80. I'm here just for a day, but might be coming more often in the next couple of months. Next time I'll try to hook up with some locals.

Wow, hell of a day to pick to come. It was 70 yesterday, gonna be in the 70's and sunny tomorrow... oops.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Ricardo... you don't live too far from the Ohio Valley. You should be all-too familiar with all the rain and gloom associated with it.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I have to admit, we hated the weather this time of year in Boston when we were living in Wellesley. The fall and winter were fine (and often gorgeous), summer was much like the rest of the East coast, which I didn't mind so much, but spring was NOT fun.

On the whole, we like the hot dry weather here, and the winters are amazing for outdoor living, but we'd still move back to the D.C. area if the opportunity presented itself.

On a rainy day in Boston I just trek on over to Spearit Sound and buy myself something :D Sometimes a trek to Newbury Comics will also do the trick!

No offense, but you can take L.A. I would never live there. As for Boston's weather....we're often part of the same weather pattern, so I know what you mean...48 one day 70 the next....evening temps above freezing, then some RAIN...back and forth till July and August....really the best time.

In Beijing we've hit a long spell of HAZE! What this means is high 80s with continually overcast skies that rarely RAIN. And when it does...the rains are very very short-lived.

Boston is a nice city. Mostly because it is VERY easy to get around on foot or by subway. DON'T try to DRIVE through it--the ONE WAY streets will drive you batty. And Mass. drivers all failed their driver's exam??

No offense taken. I don't own it, I just live here!

TBH though, there are a lot of very good and very bad things to say about L.A., but on the whole, for a very large city, there are also a lot of very nice places to live ... if you have the required financial resources to do so.

I couldn't believe it when I got off the plane from Richmond, VA last night and actually went outside at BOS! Almost like San Francisco on a "summer" night! :-O

Looking better at my house (deep NW burbs) as I type this...

Every time I travel somewhere ( be it Taiwan, China, Virginia.. or Minnesota and Nebraska earlier this year, or just last week to Vegas), I'm quickly reminded of how incredible the weather is here. No wonder housing is so damned expensive. Warm during the day -- even in January -- but nicely cool at night, even during the summer. Even in January a sweater or light jacket at night will do the trick. Little humidity but not nearly as dry as Vegas, I felt. I've lived in several places, but nothing's quite like the L.A. experience...at least when I'm stuck in traffic on the 405 or the 10 everything is beautiful and relatively comfortable, making it somewhat more tolerable :)
