    I'm not sure of anything. Maybe it is, but I get enough junk now that a little more won't hurt. I think they're just trying to do some advertising as I'd never heard of them before.

    I also got a pair, why the hell not? I doubt they use the names for junk mail, although they might, I think they just want you to try the product. Besides, it seems as if you like what it does for your tweeters, you will need to buy a set of the larger cones for your mids /woofers in order to balance out with the now more directional/higher output tweeter. That'll set you back $80.

    It's a shame they are so ugly. Maybe if someone likes them they can make a DIY enclosure with them built flush into the cabinet.

    Have a pair coming here, and a pair to my mom's house. Don't expect many here to understand horn technology, either internal or external relative to the speaker cab.

    Can't wait to test on all the 2ch rigs, esp on SDA.

    I've never heard of horns smearing/fubaring an image, if anything, it should create a more direct image, granted - smaller sweet spot more than likely, but hell, to dismiss it outright, when it's free?

    You're more than welcome. You're right it's free and is atleast worth a shot. If they don't work, send 'em on to me. I'm gonna be working on some arrays anyways.

    Horns don't muck up anything. They get a bad rap because they are most often used with compression drivers that have cheap diaphrams. Sure they limit the size of your sweet-spot, but they'll also limit the defractions. This is what diffusers and the LSi tweet are based upon.

    Mine got delivered today. Silver colored plastic. The horn and mounting rings. The rings also have 3 pieces of velcro attached. They look pretty cool and cheap.

    I used to have a pair of klipsch kg2 with a horn tweeter and the diaphram was actually a soft dome tweeter and the sound out of these things was nothing short of awsome. I think that I will get a pair of those to play around with.:D

    DIY flush mount em..... that'd be cool lookin. If you can find the right drivers and tweets they'll probably sound great.

    "Better than a $10000 upgrade" is a stretch in 95% of the cases though IMHO.

    To say the least! Maybe if you spent that $10K upgrading your aamps, pre, source, & wire to drive a "pair of sun soaked Kracos" (golden qoute) yeah sure.
    As it is, they may be gone. I got mine, but some haven't gotten a reply. They're pretty cool, but just a piece of molded plastic. They're metal flake silver. The velcro makes them easy to attach to any dome tweeter. I can't see the price they're asking. Then again if these work I might invest in a pair of 4"ers for the periscopes.

    Have a link or a minute to post the basic theory? Best I can remember external horns were about focussing the sound energy. Effect was somewhat akin to nearfield or "close" listening. I can't ever remember seeing anything on interal horns. Enquiring minds want to know...

    Don't see the SDA application, however, as horns required the speakers to be toed in as I recall... yes?

    Anyways, I'm interested in the reviews of all the intrepid explorers above, although since the offers are only for 1" tubes I'm not sure the high frequency focussing will be all that enjoyable. Dome tweeters were a serious breakthrough for their ability to disperse highs...

    This is absolutely the worst looking thing I've ever seen as far as fasteners are concerned.... They should have provided some sort of speaker ring where you could install these via sandwiching them between the speaker and the cabinet. Cheap velcro is just gonna make hell for vibrational issues. OK all you folks who ordered these things,
    WHO IS ACTUALLY GONNA STICK THESE THINGS TO THEIR POLK SPEAKERS? :confused:

    Just a show of hands?

    Looks like they make some cool bases for some new speaker stands though :D

    The velcro is not necessary, but it is handy for testing purposes. There is a detachable ring at the bottom that can be glued or screwed in for a more permanent attachment.

    see this is where i have a problem, **** or glueing stuff to my $400.00 speaker.. i just used tape 2 small pieces and when i just took them off some black came with it, didn't leave marks or anything, but i can say i "won't" be velcroing or **** anything to my 70's.. anyways.. the grill wont fit on even with the horn removed and the base plate installed.. what good is that.. ?
    The Mi-horn site has a stoneage description of putting screws through the grill material and mounting these free horns to your fabric, nah.. i will pass. I did test them today and i couldn't tell a "big" difference. not enough to canabalize my speaks anyway.
