Polk 360 remote codes

I have searched, talked to cable guy... no answers yet. Love my 360 set-up but would really like a solution to two (2) different remote code problems I have.

I have 3 components to my system:

1. Brand new 46" Samsung LED Series 6 TV, 6300 model

2. Polk Surround bar 360 DVD theater, with Polk wireless subwoofer. The Polk remote that came with this system takes 4 digit codes.

3. Cable DVR set top box: Motorola HD tuner DVR DCH6416, with Universal Electronics Charter OCAP 4-Device Remoter Control (that came new from Charter Communications cable company with the set top DVR cable box). This remote takes 5 digit codes.

I can program my cable remote to operate the TV and cable: but not the Polk Soundbar360DVR Console box

I can program my Polk remote to operate the Polk Soundbar360DVR Console (comes doing that automatically) and the Cable set top DVR, but not the Samsung LED TV.

The Samsung TV remote doesn't have "other device" control options, it just works the TV funtctions.

So, out of my two remotes that can operate other components, neither will operate all three! Very frustrating after trying so many codes, including the cable remotes "learning" sequence which did not work to pick up the Polk 360DVD console code for me or the cable guy when he tried.

So ultimately, here are my questions that I really hope you can help me with please... or advise a remote brand that can do all 3 of my components that I need to buy (which I hope is not the case!)

1. To make my Polk remote operate my TV: What is the Polk Surround bar 360 DVD theater remote control 4 digit code for my new Samsung LED 6300 46" TV?

2. To make my Cable company remote control (specs noted above) work my Polk DVD 360 console: What is the 5 digit code so the cable remote will operate my Polk Surround bar 360 DVD theater?

Please help me.

Thanks in advance, Rob

    Hello again,

I thought per the thread title, "A direct line to Polk Audio customer service", that Polk customer service monitored it and tried to anwer questions about their products, like the two I posed about remote codes?

25 views and no answers: does anybody know how often Polk Service reads and answers these threads? Should I call them instead do you think?

    Regards, Rob

Yes, your best bet is to call them.

Rob, at the present time we know of no "code punch" cable/sat box universal remotes that can control the 360 unit. Your best bet there would be to contact whomever made the cable box to see if there's an updated remote available.

On the other hand- if your TV is brand new (especially if it's an RF remote, common on many new Samsung LED TVs) the SB360 likely does not have the code in its remote to control your TV.

The best solution would be to get a remote control that is programmed via the Internet, such as the Harmony units. They will practically never go out of date.

    Rob,
To program the Surround Bar 360’s remote follow instruction on underside of the remote control, as different codes work with many different models it is almost impossible to know exactly which one will work for your model television/set top box/bluray player. So you will have to try each of them until you find one that works. Also please note while the Surround Bar 360’s Remote control is a “universal” remote, it may not operate your equipment properly. This remote (like many universal remotes on the market) has the IR data saved into the remote at the time of production, making it impossible to store and update all possible codes for all equipment. The remote will have approximately and 85% compatibility rating with today’s electronics. The only remotes available on the market with a 99% compatibility rating are the Logitech Harmony line of remote controls. They achieve this by allowing the customer to download the codes needed via the internet and update the codes in their remote via the computer.
