I believe much of what is actually broadcast today OTA is this same compressed audio anyway....we have long ago seen the day of the DJ spinning a tune on a turntable or player at the local radio station
Fortunately this is not true here in Seattle. We have a listener-supported station where the DJ's spin the records (vinyl and CD) and have shows dedicated to many different styles of music.
