    Every piece of gear I own is used.................so what's your point? Sorry you took my comment, which is my opinion based on 25+ years in this hobby both professionally and now as an audiophile, so personally. Facts are facts.

    Enjoy what you have and stop letting your insecurities show.

    I'm outta this one now since it's obvious this is heading for the crapper since people have to be so flippant and extreme in their comments.

    Ok ok relax....didn't mean to offend anybody .... And yes I take things to heart ....but I'm sick of people trashing other peoples gear saying my stuff is crap because it comes from monoprice....hey it sounds great to me and the fact of the matter is , that if you haven't heard, you know five thousand dollar amps and five hundred dollar cables ,then my three hundred dollar avr with ten dollar monoprice cables is gonna sound great.....and as far as my comments go ,its called busten balls

    That's your opinion and I happen to disagree at a certain level of gear differences are discernible.

    To the OP

    Some can hear a difference between coax and toslink. I prefer coax if you can hook things up that way because with toslink there are extra conversions taking place. For your application, and your level of gear go with whatever is the most inexpensive to get your end result because you won;t be able to hear a difference.

    this is not an opinion, it is logic, you obviously have no idea how digital works, if the entire signal does not reach the DAC in it's entirety, the signal will make loud extremely annoying poping and clicking and drop out. please stop misleading people into buying bogus expensive BS cables that make no difference whatsoever.

    that because amps and cables don't even have a sound of their own, minus tube amps. the reason tubes are different is because they produce even harmonic distortion which sounds pleasant to our ears, solid states produce odd HD, which sound harsh to our ears. if some audiophool wants to spend idiotic and irresponsible amounts of money on bogus wizardry, they need to stop convincing new-comers to do the same. in analog cables, the absolute only thing that matters is 1. will it block extra RF interference? and 2. will it be large enough to carry the correct amount of current to prevent insertion loss and low end problems.

    Thank you this has been what im trying to explain for the past three days .....this sums everything up in a nutshell ......all the gimmicks out there ;oh this wire wll gve you super sound and this wire will do this and this hdmi will give super quality its all placebo.....if the raw mateials are there and are pure ....and if the rf interference is sheilded correctly .....that is all you need the rest of the bull is "wizardry" and or placebo.....good quality wires do not need to cost a lot

    for all the monoprice haters out there here is some relevant reading from the forum rulebook;;;;
    7) Do not brand bash. We're all in this together. Discuss what you like and dislike. But don't bash someone or something because you don't like it.

    8) Be respectful of new members. If it was only you and me on this forum, we'd have no fun and the whole industry would collapse. The truth is that the world needs people like us to show them the way to great audio. Welcome the newbies. For they will encourage the next generation of audiophiles. You don’t want to be the last audiophile, do you?

    Are we cool now or are we going to continue the back and forth?

    Let's remember the new rules:

    If you're got 50 years experience--that's great! Try to keep that from setting you off when a newbie makes a post? If you're a newb...remain 'cool', the 50 years boys' bark is worse than their bite.

    If you have a low post count but actually have 50 years yourself--I thought that's why we eliminated the TITLES on this site...so that the post count wouldn't matter that much....HELLLLOOOO!

    To throw one's experience at someone is just as 'insecure' as having someone with LESS experience call you on it! Neither one is PRODUCTIVE.

    If any MODERATOR would like to step in here. Please do!

    Peace!
