In fact, I'm certain I wouldn't meet HER standards.

Hey now, don't be so quick to sell yourself short. Her "standards" may not be as lofty as you might think.

Ironically, a lot of guys won't approach a "hot" woman because they assume that she is "out of their league" and that they won't meet her "standards". Always remember that there are a lot of beautiful losers out there who:

    1. Are struggling single mothers.
    2. Are working in low paying dead end jobs.
    3. Have had a succession of loser type boyfriends or husbands.
    4. Have a ton of emotional and financial baggage due to (3) above.
    5. Are unappealing because they never developed a personality and/or they neglected their education because they could always trade on their looks.

The entertainment industry is full of attractive (and rich) women who can't attract and/or keep a good man.

There is the concept of "Dating Market Value" (DMV) wherein you and a potential dating partner is evaluated on the totality of what you each bring to the dating market to offer people you are interested in (looks, personality, education, character, lifestyle, reputation, economic status, occupation, etc.)

A guy with a good education, good personality, good reputation, solid character, well paying professional job, adequate self confidence, but average looks, has a much, much higher DVM than a "hotter than hot" struggling single mother with a low paying dead end job who is a nut case from all the sleaze balls she has dated. While the hotter than hot lady will initially attract more dating partners, her success rate will be unsatisfactory because she has very little to offer other than looks. No guy with a good life going on will want to deal with her issues.

It is a pity that so many people evaluate themselves and others mainly on physical criteria. The truth is, many of the people selling themselves short have way higher real DMV than the people they are admiring from afar.

I don't know of any cases of attractive, wealthy, ivy league educated socialites dating and marrying attractive, wealthy minimally educated professional athletes. In the socialites world, the pro athlete has too low DMV.

I do know of quite a few cases of attractive, wealthy, ivy league educated socialites dating and marrying average looking, smart, middle class, not necessarily ivy league educated guys. In these cases, the man's DMV was considered comparable or even higher than the female's because he was considered to be a "good catch". President Eisenhower is one case that comes to mind.

Such good DMV (but only if you work to develop it ;)).

AP, she's pretty new. Just got out of grad school a few years ago. I have a shot, right? I mean, there's only like a 7-8 year difference, right? Women love younger guys, RIGHT?!

:p lol I hope my girlfriend never reads these posts...

If she's not tenured yet both of you would be in trouble. Even if she is, you'd need to wait till you 'graduate'. Believe me, I have friends who've messed this kind of thing up....as for older women. Sure, I think many of us have had an affair in that age range in our youth?

    GRADUATE....FIRST! lol

Agreed. Dating, messing around with, or whatever you want to call it, is usually frowned upon by employers, academic or otherwise, when one person in the relationship has some type of power over the other person.

I can recall three cases at different universities where a high level administrator lost their job because they were in a consensual relationship with a student. In two of the cases, the administrator was married. In one of the married administrator cases, the administrator was fired due to the distraction and negative publicity caused by the affair. He divorced his wife, married his sweet young thing, and promptly found another high level administrative position at a smaller university. No action was taken against the students.

Even if the person you are interested in at work is a peer, if things go sour, ugliness could spill over into the workplace.

    After all this analyzation and good banter the fact still remains and I reiterate;
Well if those pictures of her are not photoshoped then I think she's hot as hell. I love the Mediteranian look in women, dark hair, dark eyes, dark complextion, voluptuous built like a brick house.

    My wife has that look.

It does, however, seem like there is a publicity stunt going on here.

I don't want to date her, I don't want to marry her, hell I don't even care to know her, but I do LIKE TO LOOK AT HER! as did her male colleagues who had her fired because they didn't know what to do with themselves in her presence!
