I have to admit that I'm a huge Laker fan as I've been following them since they moved to LA in 1960. And, I have to also admit that I HATE Boston..no surprise there. lol Well, tomorrow night (thurs) the war begins at the Staples Center.

GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I mention I hate the Celtics? lol

    Lifetime Laker fan here.

I think the Lakers will lose to Boston. The Celtics just have too many excellent players for the Lakers to match up with them.

    Hope I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure the Lakers are going to take it all! Don't like that thought..but there it is.

There are rules, they just change depending on the player. The number of steps a player gets to complete an awesome 360 slam dunk is directly proportionate to the number of times he's been to the All Star game.

Nearly 40 year Laker fan here.

This should be a great series, and no matter who wins, I am really glad that "King James" isn't a part of it.

Lakers in 6. Yes, they will win one in Boston.

As a life-long Cavs fan (well, almost - I'm older than the team), I feel so very happy that the Celtics and the Lakers, who've never experienced an NBA championship, get a rare opportunity to win one for their championship-starved cities.

And I thought that the Yankee fans around here sucked.....

So much for Game 1, watching it live in a bar downtown Tokyo. I'm not a fan either, would love to see the Lakers pull off a payback.

More a Chicago bulls fan when Jordan made Scottie Pippen a good player.

    Lakers 102
    Boston 89

Tonight was a great game one win for Laker fans...still a long way to go as the Lakers need to win Sun. to defend their home court.

He's probably referring to a payback for the 2008 Finals loss to Boston.

Memories of this rivalry go back to the 80's. Back when I was at school about a 100 miles from boston. The Larry Bird / Magic Johnson era. Some amazing matches from back then.

You had to see a Celtic / Lakers match at the old Boston Gardens to really appreciate this rivalry. The best part was that both teams were fairly evenly matched in this period.

Oh the good ole days when Larry Bird would score from behind the basket in clutch times. I was a young lad back then, but I do remember watching on the tube.

Got it! How could I have forgotten that! Maybe because the Lakers won last year and just about every Nike store in Beijing has Kobe posters and signature Kobe shoes. Seems like Boston won that title in a land Far far away in a time LONG long ago. lol

Paul Pierce is a COMPLETE ****. Watching him lose was almost better than watching the Lakers win. :D

and it looks like the League MVP choice was wrong after all. LeBron is good, but he's no Kobe. Not yet anyway. ;)

Yeah I hear ya. The sports media keeps trying to sell Lebron as the best player in the league, but most know that Kobe is really the best player. In order for Lebron to be the "king" he'll first have to take Kobe's crown away and that hasn't happened yet!

Yeah, both Magic and Bird had great peripheral vision and great hands. Bird though had the ugliest dunk!! :D

The match ups of Magic's Lakers and Bird's Celtic's were legendary and was fueled by Magic's Michigan State victory over Bird's Indiana University for the NCAA Championship in 1978/79. That was a GREAT game!

Game 2 was a tough loss for the Lakers and it cost them home court.

Game 3 was a great win for the Lakers..it was a brutal game that Fish bailed out for us once again!

This is going to be a really tough series that might get really physical depending on how it's called.
