I bought these from Troy D quite a few months ago. ( Thanks Troy ) So I finally got around to the crossover upgrade. Thanks to some unplanned time off at work..lol
The amps are warming up so I can get an ear on them.
How about a few pics while we wait? :D

Looks very nice! I will do that someday to the set I have waiting for me. Now that I see the XO in the light of day it looks like a very similar setup to the 1C, without the balancing act of Caps on the end.
    Enjoy them.

All I can say is wow! What a nice rig! How are those new crossovers sounding? Now that I'm heading back to the ATL area for the summer, we're going to have to meet sometime Jerry! Hope your recovering and feeling better.

Hi Dawgfish, I would love to meet up with you when you come to town. The crossovers are sounding pretty well as of now. They tell me that they will go through a couple of phases so I am trying to just let them play and not get to critical yet... but they sounded really nice last night. :D

Looks great Jerry, how are you feeling?

Just one thing what made you let the 27 uf cap hang off the end rather than stand it up on end?

Hi, Joe. I am feeling good. Just a little sore where they cut me...lol Thanks for asking.

As far as the placement of the cap..... I guess the only reason is, that's the way I did the 1c's. :D Seem to fit quite nice, and I did not have to add to the leads. Once I hot glued it into place it was quite sturdy.:D

    Hi Jerry!

It's good to see you up and about. The crossover upgrades look great! Did you seal the woofers and tweeters with Mortite while you were inside the cabinets? Also, Dynamat on the baskets is a good tweak> Both of these tweaks are very inexpensive $25? And, they will make a difference. I have not done any cabinet reinforcing, but I understand this is also a notable tweak.

Do you have spikes on the big Polk's? Or a bass brace?

    Hi Carl,
I have not done any sealing to the big guys yet. That's next on my list. I do have them spiked though. I seem to have more projects than time. Isn't this hobby great. lol I saw where TOOLFANFORLIFE put a thick matting in his I am thinking of trying that as well. Have you tried anything like that?

    Hi Jerry!

I haven't tried the matting. I am always afraid of killing too much resonance for the passives, and reducing the cabinet volume. I am no expert in this area. Bracing and sealing, I can understand how that might tighten up the sound.

Jerry, unless the first picture you sent is not and acurate depiction of your setup it appears to me that you have the speakers reversed.

The side with 4 drivers should be on the outside of the speaker.

They are labeled left and right on the back.

Not! Polk changed them from the 2.3 to 2.3 TL. 2.3TL's the 4 row is on the inside and the 2 row on the outside. On the 2.3 (non-TL) the 4 row is on the outside and the 2 row is on the inside.

Nice work Jerry and for a guy who has been down you sure are covering a lot of ground.

Are those 1Cs in the background?

If they are I did not realize the 2.3s were that much larger.

Yes, Those are 1C's. Don't feel bad before I got the 2.3's I had no idea they were that much bigger than the 1C's

Well my ground covering will be slowing a bit now. I am back to work. lol

Polk changed the design when he made the TL's so the the 2 row woofers are the ones that work with the A-1 Interconnect Cable. On yours, it works with the 4 row and the 2 in the middle work with the interconnect cable. There was one guy that went to the expense and time to change his over to the TL but it is too pricey to do it this way. You are better off finding a set of 2.3TL's for sale and then selling your 2.3's. That is what I did.
