The Flyers are going to the Stanley Cup Finals. Good luck to the Flyers and Black Hawks. It should be a good series. It's a great time to be a hockey fan in one of those cities. Good luck!
No fears, my Penguins will be back in the hunt next year.:D

Should be a classic... I anticipate lots of fighting between these two teams, but that aside, both these teams have a good shot at hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup. I have not watched hockey in some time. This pairing may change that.
I don't care who wins, so good luck to both. The Gear... There is a show on Comcast's On Demand chronicling the Broad Street Bullies! I've watched it several times. It really brings back some great and fond memories. I was in my late teens/early twenties during that era.
Lot's of Flyer haters out there, but I don't care!:D -
That was a decent game tonight---I'll tell ya what--I really hate when I am forced to watch the game delayed on DVR (family matters come first), and just as I am finishing up watching the 1st period, all I hear from outside are fireworks going off.:mad: It just ruins the anticipation of it all---but with the 2nd goal from the Canadiens, the pressure on in the end, along with that last flyers goal at 22s made for some exciting moments at my house.
Go Flyers!!!____________________

I remeber watching that one. They wanted nothing more to due with Bobby Clarke and crew. But one of the best games ever played was when that same Red Army Team played the Canadiens to a 3-3 draw. -
Well I peeked and I guess you're not all bad posting great clips about the Broad Street Bullies. Don't start that personal attack crap please it was a compliment.

You gotta be kidding Fred. Those Red crybabies walking off the ice and the Flyers just pounding them into sand and then winning was one of the all time natural rushes I've ever experienced. I think I had laryngitis for two weeks after that game!
I still remember jumping 5' in the air when Van Impe floored that ruskie from behind!!!
The Flyers management told the ruskies if they didn't return to the ice they wouldn't get paid . . . that changed their minds real quick! Red bastages. -
Truth be told there are some good talented Canadian lads on the Flyers that I like,Carter Richards ,Gagne and that Giroux fella looks like he will do in the NHL what he did in Juniuor, score lots of goals.

You're right on the money. My boy Gagne is such a natural talent. -

It was either a few nights before or after that they played the Habs in that classic. -
Thats what I mean Joe ,they didn't want to be in the same county as Clarke and his posse. They had to leave the ice to change their frickin diapers.

Yep IIRC you are correct. That was indeed a classic. Ooooo I'm getting all goose bumpy thinking about the coming series! -

Dirty play my big fat Italian behind that is called REAL hockey! Those ruskie were real pansies! -
Nowadays in international tournaments like the World Jr championship the Russians are amongst the dirtiest ,they love to spear and butt end with their sticks and other nasty stuff.
As for the Flyers Leighton's was a feel good story, being a Habs cast off with the Flyers picking him up in early 2010 for a measly $11,000,being 8th on the depth chart, then going to the stanley cup final. -
Great stuff,Yep it was Belliveau's last and it was Drydens rookie year,he wasn't the most graceful of goaltenders but he sure got the job done.

You're just jealous 'cause the voices don't talk to you! -

Ken Dryden used to give me heartburn! That gangly 6'4" body was all over the front of that net. He would stop pucks with an almost invisible force field.
"Only the Lord saves more than Bernie Parent" using the butt of his stick, his thumb, a skate lace or whatever, but Ken Dryden used to frustrate the Flyers with his invisible force field.
You know who else use to drive me nuts . . . Patrick Roy . . . oh boy did I use to down the anti-acids when the Flyers faced him. -

You missed some incredible hockey players Mike! Yeah you had your
Wayne Gretzky's, Mario Lemieux's, and Mark Messier's but Bobby Orr, Rocket Richard, Jean Beliveau, Phil Esposito, Bobby Clarke, Guy Lafleur and others of their ilk just had more competition and talent against them than did the three I mentioned.
I'm leaving out a whole slew of other's but you get my point. -
Been a Flyers fan since the early 70's. Went to several of the Cup games in 75.:)
On a side note, this guy (Mr Leonardi) was my High School Science teacher...

Hahaha, He looks like Mr. Gabe Kotter . . . fitting that he was a teacher. Were you one of his sweat hogs?:D;)
I remember the Flyers when they were the expansion team! Talk about heartburn. -
He looks nothing like that anymore. Check out this video. He's a kook!

Whoa!!!! Now that I saw that video, I remember "sign man!" and I also remember that wedding day! Cool man, you're firing up, what I thought, are long dead memory cells.:D:cool: -
Blackhawks sweep FTW!

It's a shame when the only way to win is to break someone's ankle, and people will call that good ol' hockey. I call that homer-ism...
Go Hawks!
