so let me get this right.... the "best" speaker manufacturer made the arguably best speaker in its line...the 1c...and they have to be worked over before they sound good? doesnt make a great deal of sense to me.

hmmmm guess i shouldn't respond unless i'm interested in buying "gone" speakers.

    done.

I sure hope the buyer didn't pay the sellers asking price. Way too high, IMO. I guess it's moot as they are GONE!

Hey man don't take it so personally. If anything I think InspiredSports' post was meant to help out with the sale. It lets prospective buyers know, they are good stock, but they can be made into truly outstanding speakers with a few mods. I can see where you can take his comments as being a dig, but anybody who knows him will tell you he was only trying to help out in this situation. Sorry to post on your for-sale thread about non-sale related stuff. I'm glad the SDAs sold. They are definitely not everybody's cup of tea and that's ok. Everybody has different tastes. You got some cash and another person got some speakers that hopefully they will enjoy. It worked out for everybody in the end.

My apologies . . . my intent was to help the sale along.

I guess when reberly asked about your telescope without making an offer and you didn't bite his head off, I felt it was OK to post without making an offer.

Last, if these did not sell right away and the price came down to a reasonable level, I would have been quite interested in making an offer.

    Peace, out

youall are kind of funny. that statement is directly(cut and paste) from the forum for sale rules . if you have an issue with its verbage i suggest you take it up with polk.

it also seems a little odd to me that people lurk around and have all sorts of things to say after a situation has arisen but wont say anything prior. the true definition of a troll to me but se la vie. if my price was so high then why not say something? or mabe...make an offer? and actually whats gone down is this.... my brother said "well these people seem to think a set of caps and other crap will make these at least tollerable...how about i buy the caps and stuff and well put them at the lakehouse?" i said, "ok whatever, they arent doing me any good" so after a few more beers and a couple hours at the water i donated the speaks and non phono pre (why would anybody make an analogue pre thats not phono is beyond me but again...whatever) and amp and he donated the caps and stuff. i guess if nothing else theres a "great" set of speaks at the boathouse...hope the coons dont get in lol.

i wasnt(still ain't duh huh) bent out of shape about the extras on the thread. it takes a while to get used to the mannerisms of others. im not easily offended guys. in fact thats the beauty of the internet. i dont use the ignore feature i feel its for poeple that cant keep their mouth shut and need to self seperate to keep from responding. ill simply not respond if im truly offended.

another funny thing whilst were here. face decided to make a remark a while back "that explains alot" when i had my pile of polks on a shelf. what a tard! i came across a photo of a bunch of those 2 mid driver models he had stacked presumably for the same reason...only way to get them all in the pic. but he just had to open his mouth. why? it seems rather clear to me that the major overhaul of club polk was due to a long time coming situation. it also seems evident that the major players in a longtime coming situation would be the long time members? think about it ... if its so tight and cant be penetrated then it must heve been the long timers **** it up? eh?

all that said and certainly put aside... i am truly disappointed in the sound of the 1c's. i was of course expecting miracles and i suppose i may have set my bar too high for a 25 year old speaker. i am also bummed because i love the look both grilles on and off. ben said i may have placed them wrong... that is quite possible but i can read and did follow the instructions so i dont believe so. after testing them with three receivers 2 digi and one analogue, and more placement configurations than i can count, an adcom, a denon, and an old sansui, 4 different cd sources and a turntable...even outside on the deck in wide open unobstructed space, i couldnt get them to compete with my dcm's. not even going to mention the 11t as they are almost live sounding to me. i probably would have preferred to trade them for a set of rta15 studio in mint condish but never got to typing it in the description.

I didn;t say anything about your price in your sale thread prior to the sale because it's not right to do that unless a potential buyer comes right and asks. You can ask 1 million dollars, that's your right to ask, and it's in poor form to call a seller out in his own thread about price.

The comments made in this thread were *AFTER* the sale not before. That's why when biopicasso started a thread about a sale of 1C's I stated $600 was way too high for stock studio's, IMO. If he paid that then great. If you were concerned about asking price you should have asked before posting or asked in the thread, not complain about it after the sale.

well i appreciate the thought as far as not potentially torpedoing my sale. i was not concerned about price as i have 400 plus fuel for 1000 miles plus my own drive time. if i dont break even i wont sell. to me taking a financial loss is right up there next to contracting syphilis from a 10$.... i personally wouldnt have taken offence to a pm stating the price was too high. but i do understand the catering to the masses attitude and dont hold it against others.

hmmm let me see. My problem with this is you CRAPPED ALL OVER MY FREAKIN' THREAD. yet when someone does it to you, you post the rules and say don't talk to me when others do it. My suggestion is to take your own advice. Even after you acknowledged that you crapped in my thread you went and did it some more.

Do I feel sorry for you that this happened, no, why because you did it to me. Then you get mad at others saying that they are wrong in doing so. My suggestion is to take your own advice. If you didn't like them then fine, keep it to a PM but don't crap.

And also now calling out a member saying they sent you a blown tweeter is also annoying, how about keep it to a PM with them regarding it and add a mod in if need be if the issue isn't solved. You have derailed you own FS thread.
