Keep an eye on the MN Craigs List. It seems like a lot of stolen merchandise from N Central IA gets listed there. I know someone who just found their missing Cub Cadet lawn mower there.

I still maintain that this is someone who knew what electronics you had in the house, and knew when you would be gone. Could be someone you know, but just had some other p.o.s. do the dirty work for a cut of the profits. Like others said, keep an eye on surrounding area's craiglist....I'm betting something will pop in a couple weeks unless they are dumb enough to put it up for sale asap. Hope your insurance company treats you well.

I'm probably not to far west of you. Between central and NW Ia. I've been watching ads for the last couple months and if I see something I will notify you. I havent locked my doors in years and probably should start. But my neighbors in a wheel chair and sits outside his garage with a 12 pack everyday. So as long as he doesnt pass out he's a pretty good watchdog.

Sorry to hear this; ensure no checks were taken from the back/middle of your checkbook. A friend had his checkbook cleared of $1500 several years by because they only took a couple of checks out of the back of his checkbook!

I really hope you find the guys. Watch the craiglist and ebay as well as vist local pawn shops ect if you have any. Sorry to hear about this, it really makes me mad when people have things stolen like this.

Also check to see how they might have known you were gone. Like did you say something in front of a group of people, do people know you have audio gear. Did they take anything else besides the gear. It would come across as strange if all they took was the gear, the cables, ect but leave like comptuers, jewlery, ect.

ok and it just strikes me as odd that they took the cables, most common people could care less about cables, audio people know how much they can go for, so that is just odd to me.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. It isn't so much what was stolen but that someone was in your house without your permission and completely violating your space. I hope you manage to get your stuff back, or at least that it's all covered by insurance, but more importantly I hope you come out of this with a healthy perspective.

Sorry to hear about it. Make sure your insurance guy takes good care of you. I'd be watching the Minneapolis CL as well. You must not be far from Mason City/Charles City area.

Make sure to go in with last fall's Stereophile Buyers guide, and print outs from Fry's to show pricing of the Polk's. Get print outs from cable makers websites showing cost including shipping. Don't cave in, keep the pressure on them to meet true replacement costs.

    North Cenral? As in Manly?

There's not a lot of places they can get rid of it other than Des Moines
or Minneapolis. Anywhere else will stick out like a sore thumb.

nope not Manly but only bout 15 miles away Nora springs. Are you from the area cause im guessing that you would have to be to know that North central is in Manly not a really big town.

I spent a lot of time at Lime Springs growing up! My grandparents farmed just west of Lime Springs. If there's a Rochester/Austin MN Craigs List I would watch that.

I grew up on a farm North of Rockford.
I haven't lived there in about 35 years. The only one still up there is my
my mom, who lives over in Charles City now.
