I have been looking for some larger TL SDAs in my area. I found some original 2.3 SRSs for a 4 hour round trip and $300. Is this worth the trip over my curreny 2Bs?

Grab them quick. Those deals don't come by very often. I have had 2 pair of 1C's and some RTA 12B's and they are far better IMO. The bass is staggering.

DAMN, I just found the ad, and trying to contact the owner to see if I could get them, day late dollar short.:mad:Again:(

What is the difference in these that have the 2 passive 6.5" instead of the drivers?

What you think are passives are drivers MW6513's if memory serves me right..

OK, so you guys are saying that on the stack of the four 6.5" drivers, the bottom one and the top one are drivers, not passive radiators?

I have seen these with that stack all looking like normal cone drivers. Could one not replace that style driver with traditional drivers? Wonder what mods would be needed to make that happen. Finding replacement drivers for the "weighted looking" drivers would seem to be a big issue, as nooshinjohn says.

They look great cosmetically. Original Pin/Blade cord included...bonus. The hair on the grills is from my packing blankets. All of the drivers moved / weren't frozen. Too wet tonight and no help for unloading so it is what it is. They are stuck in the truck. See if I can sleep tonight???:p almost like christmas eve

Congrats and nice score. When I got mine, I had to replace a couple of tweeters, replace the poly switches, and swap out 1 6511 driver. Now they are sounding just fine. And if you need to swap out the poly switches, there's a lot of info on this board to do that. They're free from polk and now that I've done mine, I can say easy too. Good luck and happy listening.

HA! LOL I've actually done that before. For a pair of Rosewood $300 KEF 104/2 on a Sunday evening in PJ's with a 3 hour round trip. Almost forgot to zip up the barn door when I got out of the car....

WOW! LOOK AT THAT CONDITION! WAS THE SELLER LITERALLY SMOKING CRACK WHEN YOU PULLED UP? AMAZING DEAL!

No, the seller was very nice. He got them from his uncle who had a studio, was getting ready to move, and did not want to move them again because he was not using them. I admit ... after humping them out of a Honda Element into my house by myself, I do not blame him totally.

I really don't have room to set them up, but could not pass on the deal. I just got back from plantin 8 rose bushes for my father-n-law after getting unloaded. I know Vette won't think they are off the truck without a pic so I may update after my napping 6 month old is not in the room.

Got the father-n-laws roses planted, got the kid through the dentist...and I finally got a moment to move these onto some cables as I bought them straight disconnected out of a garage. Put on some Dire Straights...nothing...oops switch the pre amp source to the CD player and start over. AWSOME!!! Didn't have anyone else here to snap a pic of me grinning from ear to ear!

Money is a bit short now so I will be enjoying as is. But I will be saving up for upgrades over time. I've gotten some great info via PMs on how/what to do and I will use the search button:) as well as items listed above in the thread.

$300. Heck you could do the tweets and XO's all for under the price I bought my un-modded ones for.

Great score. They look like they are in great shape.

Cincy any way to take a pic of the back of the speaker. Mine are mis-labeled. Just curious what yours are labeled as.
