    5802 hands down. No contest. But yes, it would be nice to know the application and corresponding gear used. Won;t change my choice but I could make other suggeations as well.

    I own both and they both are very good amps but I would say the 5802 is a step above A little more refined if you will.

    Go for a 5802 you will be very happy with it..

    5802. The 585 is very nice, but a **** to work on and most need to be rebuilt do to leaking capacitors.
