Pioneer elite VSX 49 Txi or B&K 507

I am about to buy a new receiver I like both. They are about the same $$$$. Which would you get and please why.

    Man what a killer Elite 2 you narrowed your search.


    Features I would go with the Pioneer,the B&K has more current.I had to kick this Idea around for a long time.I was going to buy a vsx49tx and ended up with a B&K for my own reasons....You'll find yours.

    My advice is this....your not going to go wrong here.Pioneer Elite has the rights to the best receiver on the market today for alot of reasons.They really made a killer comeback over the last years 3 series.The 4 series is there best ever in my opnion.

    B&K is a different breed.I perfer B&K only due to the ability to drive the speakers I own and mate perfectly.Sound quality here is unmatched my any reciever under 5 grand.B&K is fully upgradable.

    The Pioneer elite has Mcacc and Video upconverting,The B&K does not.They want to but don't feel the need at this time.

    Tell me more about the rest of your system including video and I could help you further.

    Hello Mantis, thank for you insight on the B&K and 49-txi. I am going nuts one time I am going to buy the Pioneer and the next I going to buy the B&K. They are both one hell of a unit at a price that is right for me. You had asked what I am going to drive one of the two units that I decide on:

    Polk RTi70's (Front)
    Polk CSi40 (Center)
    Polk FXi50's (Side Rear)
    Polk FXi30's (Rear)
    Polk PSW 650 (Front Sub)
    Polk PSW 202 (Rear Sub)

    I will be getting a plasma tv, but at this time have not narrowed it down to type and company.

    I also will buy a new DVD player and VCR also don't know what type or company at this time. I do have sat. tv right now.


    With all said I have been told that the B&k would drive my speaker "real sweet". I hope you can give some more feed back and others also

    didn't realise you where going to buy more then just a receiver.Now after looking over your system and where it's going,I would go with the Pioneer Elite vsx49txi.The video upconverting is priceless with a Plasma.Get a Pioneer Elite pro1000hd,dvd get the Pioneer Elite dv47ai.

    Your system would be super killer.Let me know how you make out.
