    I had a friend do this in front of me once. He doesn't like me very much any more. When he see me he goes the other way. Some people need to be taught lessons they will remember for life. I am glad I can be a reminder for him.

    Words can't describe the thoughts in my head. And definitely things I will not post on the internet but I hope I never find out someone I know does something like this to any animal. Animal lives mean more to me than humans. People are dumb and should know better. Animals aren't as evolved so they don't know or understand why stuff happens the way it does. I pity animals. People deserve what they get and then some.

    True. They have no filter in their brains; it's called a sociopath. Here's some trivia for you:

    In the 19th century, psychopathology was considered to be "moral insanity". Today it is commonly known as "antisocial personality disorder" or "sociopathology." Current experts believe that sociopaths are an unfortunate fusion of interpersonal, biological and sociocultural disasters.

    Psychopaths/sociopaths are diagnosed by their purposeless and irrational antisocial behavior, lack of conscience, and emotional vacuity. They are thrill seekers, literally fearless. Punishment rarely works, because they are impulsive by nature and fearless of the consequences. Incapable of having meaningful relationships, they view others as fodder for manipulation and exploitation. According to one psychological surveying tool (DSM IIIR) between 3-5% of men are sociopaths; less than 1% of female population are sociopaths.

    Psychopaths often make successful businessmen or world leaders. Not all psychopaths are motivated to kill. But when it is easy to devalue others, and you have had a lifetime of perceived injustices and rejection, murder might seem like a natural choice.

    The following are environmental factors, psychiatrists say, which create a sociopath:

    Studies show that 60% of psychopathic individuals had lost a parent;

    Child is deprived of love or nurturing; parents are detached or absent;

    Inconsistent discipline: if father is stern and mother is soft, child learns to hate authority and manipulate mother;

    Hypocritical parents who privately belittle the child while publicly presenting the image of a "happy family".

    "Luckily, Mango was caught shortly thereafter by three little boys who used a hose to put out the flames and then tracked down her family."

    Gives me hope for the future...

    UPDATE:

    051210mango1.jpg

    "Mango is a very sweet cat, especially considering all that she has been through. Mango had received treatment initially at another vet that included bandage changes, antibiotics, and keeping her comfortable with pain meds. When Mango came to us, the back 1/3 of her body was covered in raw subcutaneous tissue (the tissue found right under the skin) and dying, crusty skin. There were areas of potential infection so we took a culture. We also did this to ensure that the antibiotics she was still on were still appropriate.

    She had lost the skin on various parts of her body and one of our biggest concerns was if she would eat enough to promote the healing of her skin. That has not been a problem as she eats very well. We are lucky that she was cared for so well before she came to Best Friends.

    Currently we have to sedate her daily to replace the bandages that cover that damaged skin. At first we used what is called a wet to dry bandage to help remove a lot of the dead tissue and to keep the underlying structures moist. Now we are using a covering called Ioban 3 in the hopes of providing further antimicrobial action as well as keeping the exposed tissue moist. She will likely need these changes done every 1-3 days for several weeks. Once all the tissue is healthy, we will have to find ways to put healthy skin over the exposed subcutaneous tissue. It is still a guarded prognosis, but she is progressing nicely.

    We were also concerned that she might have incontinence issues, but with the smaller bandages, she has been able to go much easier. She will be staying at the clinic and Happy Landings while she heals. Eventually, she will be able to go to a foster home. She is a very sweet and endearing cat. She purrs constantly. "

    First of all, why do you "hate" anything that does you no harm? :confused::confused:

    Secondly, the "worst" you do is catch them and give them to the shelter? You realize most shelters euthanize most of the animals they take in. Usually by injection or gas chamber, a very frightening way for the animal to die. :mad::mad:

    Please tell me you have found a good, true no kill shelter. And NOT the humane society - some are good but most are the worst.

    The best form of punishment is to pour lighter fluid on the person(s) and set their ****(es) on fire... just as it was done to the cat.

    In this case - An eye for an eye until we are blind!

    easy dude, he doesnt like cats. I used to hate cats too, now I own 4 of them. the wife, what can I say.

    as far as the shelter, I understand your feelings, but let us not lump him into the category of torching cats on fire......cmon now.

    Incidentally I saw a video of some russian guy catching a cat, puring lighter fluid on it and burning it alive.......I was in my "hate cats" phase and still would have loved to find the guy and curb stomp him. to do that to any animal means that person has ISSUES!! At that level of cruelty, it's not as far a strecth from doing that to a cat or dog then doing it to a human.....at least not morally in there warped minds.

    I have to disagree with you on the cat hating. While I am not crazy about having a cat as a pet, I admire the way my daughter interacts with her cat and vice versa. Observing the way this cat makes my daughter happy, the only thing about this cat that I hate is the fact that she will die and my daughter will be devastated.

    But c'est la vie

    I love all of God's creatures... including the humans.

    Hey bro, I feel bad when I have to kill an ant or a fly that has entered my house. I've been known to try to catch them and set them free.

    Going back some years, I used to hunt and now when I think of all the animals I've killed I get a wave of remorse even though I used them for food.:(
