I wouldn't get too caught up in a sub cable, any decent cable should do the trick. In fact, if you see any product that labels itself as a 'High Definition' or 'HD' subwoofer cable I'd probably avoid it.

There is no reason to laugh!

You can purchase any sub cable that would fit your budget. Signal cable, Blue Jeans, Audioquest, just to name a few.

+ 2 (or 3) ^^^^^^ Monoprice cables are ridiculously nice cables at a FRACTION of what some name brands sell for.

I got 150' of in-wall 12 AWG speaker cable, a 25' FAT! in-wall HDMI cable, a 25' heavy gauge in-wall component video cable, and a 25' in-wall VGA cable delivered to my door for under $100! That's less than I would have spent on JUST the HDMI cable at a box store in pretty packaging. First purchase from them, but WELL worth it. Quality WAY exceeded my expectations.

There have been PLENTY of stores that have been hacked into & information stolen from them.

It is simply the risk you take when using a credit card.

Yes they accept paypal and that is the way that I always pay. However, Ebay/paypal was hacked too a few years ago. Like Kathy said, lots of companies get hacked that's the risk we all take when buying online.

My experience with monoprice cables was a bad one. I bought several ICs and speaker cables a long while ago and it made my rig sound like there were pillows over the speakers.

As far as a sub cable goes, I don't see where they could screw that up.

I've had charges appear on my card several times in the past for things I did not buy. I simply called the card company and they removed them. If they give you any crap, ask to speak with a supervisor. It's worked every time.

Have to agree a bit with HI. Monoprice is a great deal, but not always the best quality. Better than Monster crap prices though any day of the week.

I'm getting the feeling that you are looking for a little something extra, special? A few dollars laying around?

If so, I would hit up Audiogon and eBay and every once in awhile you can find a single "stranded" cable originally from a set that is selling for much less than it should just because its not a pair anymore.

For example I had a pair of Transparent Audio MusicLink Supers .5 meter that originally sold for $550. Lost one and couldn't use the remaining one by itself and they tend to be matched pairs. Sold it for $50 on ePay. Way below what a pair should go for but I knew I wouldn't get much for it. You might do a search for MIT, Kimber, Transparent, Vampire, etc.

    I will Echo sphere here. (I know....:p:D.)
The monoprice cables are a good step up from the throw-away ones that come with new components. A good step up from monoprice, would be from Signal Cable. Very nice stuff, especially for the price. From there, let thy wallet be your guide.:D

Can't disagree with someone who agrees with me really. :)

And really, less is NEVER more (sorry had to :D). By spending a few bucks more you'll get a better connector, which is good.

packetjones is eyeing some of the Signal cables also. You can buy this one as a single.

I've never had a problem with Monoprice. I use paypal also.
Quality of items is outstanding, and at a fraction of other "name" brands, which both do the same job.

Really? How many $500 cables have you used and compared in your own rig to come to that conclusion?

The Transparent Audio MusicLink Supers cost me $500. They sounded very good. But that was 15 years ago, not sure if they are that well made anymore. I did hear a difference. I keep looking on AG and Epay, but they don't come up very much and still too expensive. And no, I wouldn't pay that much for them now new. I know better to spend more on gear. But to my ears, I heard a very nice, open soundstage with less noise. I would pay $100 for them used in a heartbeat. :)

But spend $500? Thats more than half what I paid for my Mark Levinson. Heck no, I've learned. That's snake oil. ;)

Snake oil is ALL about price: For 50 cents, that a good deal. For $500 that's a rip off. Fooled me once, not again! :D

Really? Would you care to list the $500 cables you've tried out and listened to critically to validate your statement.

Don't go by the naysayers BS. Most of them never tried them out and go by just what they read rather than experience.

Try them on your own before casting aspersions.;) You can get $500 MSRP ICs and speaker cables used for a lot less and in some instances, new for a lot less. If you don't like them or don't hear any difference you can flip for what you paid for them or close to it.

Echo you contradicted yourself twice. First you say they are are a scam then you say you heard a difference, then you say you heard a "very nice, open soundstage with less noise.":confused::confused:

    Which is it?:)

Snake oil isn't about price it's whether the products does what the manufacturer claims it does.

BTW which Mark Levinson piece to you get for a little over $1K?

Ok smart guy its impossible to justify five hundred dollar cables.....because there is only a certain amount of materials that can go into a wire .....not to mention stranded copper is stranded copper as long as its pure and oxygen free what's the difference from three four hundred dollar copper to ten dollar copper....really its common sense....I build houses for a living ......its like trying to justify putting super duper electrical lines in your walls...besides for the difference in gauge ...they are all the same
