Best "surround sound movie"

I am helping my VP install a surround sound system in his house, and last night he asked "What's the best surround sound movie?"..... I first thought of U571 since it has a constant creaking sound in the surrounds, and some good all around battle sequences with explosions, etc. He said "sounds awesome, is it kid friendly?" Of couse I said that it isn't, and then recommended the movie Cars if he wanted a good family movie.

So, what are some others that I can recommend (best picture / audio)? I was just reading about Avatar, it looks like one that I should recommend. He has never had an audio set up for his tv, this is a first and he is super excited to see / hear how it is.

He is putting in a 46" samsung lcd (120hz), denon receiver (forgot the model), samsung blu ray, and a hd tivo. The front speakers are in wall RC85i, center is a CS20, rears are in ceiling RC60i, and the sub is a PSW05. All componants will be connected via hdmi cables, the speakers have 12awg in wall wire (all wiring from monoprice). Controller is a Harmony 700. The room is about 12' wide by 25' deep (9' ceiling), couch will be back about 10' and the rest of the room will have games (ping pong or something)... I have a feeling it will be quite loud and shock him! We should have it all set up next weekend.

Thanks!!

x3 for "Master and Comander". The first 10 min. is like being there with them. The creaks and water noise are soooo realistic.

"Constantine".. The first few minutes till the young boy finds the dagger and gets hit by a car..

    x2 on U571.

Master and Commander, to be sure.

Also, you might consider "The Fast and the Furious" (the 1st one). Not the whole movie, though.
The scene towards the end of the movie where Dominic and Brian are sitting at a stop light and, when the light turns green, Dom trounces on the 69 Dodge Charger.

This scene is excellent for displaying the raw power of the system you're checking out. Just like being there. :)

Okay... YOU, sir, know how to pick 'em! Hellboy, Cloverfield, Transformers 1&2, Terminator: Salvation, Rambo, Ninja Assassin, Incredible Hulk, and Live Free Or Die Hard all make my list of outstanding demo material. Especially those last two, which will rock a subwoofer until it cries!

If you're looking for kid friendly, I'd suggest 9 (The sock puppets WILL inherit the earth) It's got a lot of bass ambiance.

I second 9. Just make sure and check your levels before you crank it, it damn near made my MPKs **** themselves. There are A LOT of good suggestions here. My biggest preference has been most action movies with DTS. I just seem to enjoy it more than Dolby, but thats just my opinion:D

i third 9 myself. the dobly track on the dvd wasn't a slouch by no means. but i'm sure that the blurays dts track kicks dolby's butt.

I am really egar to get my new dsw600 on thurs. the first thing I am going to do is buy Avatar on bluray and crank it up. There is so much attention to detail in that movie its crazy.

another good movie that has a great audio track is Collateral with Tom cruise and jamie fox. Its one of my favorite movies. It has a great musical sound track and the audio recording of the movie was done real well. There is something different about it.

The dts mix on the first Fast and the Furious movie is really damn good. Would also recommend the first race scene....I think it is called "NOS Fest", i think it is scene 5 or 6.
