Pioneer SC-05 Zone 2 with PS3

Hello,
I just stumbled into a sick deal on a pair of rt35i's and wanted to set up a second zone in my kitchen so I can listen to music throughout the house. My PS3 is my only CD/DVD player and is hooked up via HDMI to my SC-05.
So, apparently zone 2 of the SC-05 only accepts analog signals and the PS3 won't output HDMI audio and analog audio at the same time. Anyone have any thoughts or should I just make the 35i's my surround backs and forget the second zone? Thanks

You can use Audio Multi-Output

Thanks for the reply mutelight. It wasn't an option with my software version, so I upgraded and it's available. However, when I choose this feature it says it will restrict my HDMI output so that "Audio in Linear PCM format can only output up to 5.1 ch @ 44.1/48 kHz"
I am only running 5.1 so that is a non-issue, but will I notice the loss of the output of 88.2 kHz or 176.4 kHz?Receiver: Pioneer Elite SC-05

Here's what I use. The issue you would have is that you would have to change the input type when changing between Zone 1 and Zone 2.

Use an Ipod man. Forget about using the Ps3 in zone 2. I know you wanna and it's cool for music and all but the Sony PS3 sucks **** when trying to use it in a multizone system.
The sc-05 has direct connect Ipod connection in the front. It uses the internal DAC's of the receiver and can send the music out both zones.
Sony messed up on the design of the Ps3. When I owned it I felt it had mad potential. It did when I used it in the main room but once I tried to take it to the next level, I was completely disappointed and got rid of it.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

There are very few titles that are above those sample rates. You can see how few titles are above 48kHz on this site.

Haha, no the PS3 is a fantastic media player and if the OP owns an iPod it is a nice feature and can be convenient at times but the navigation is slow as sin on the Pioneer and not all that robust.// Panasonic AE8000 // Pioneer SC-57 // Polk Audio RTi A9 // Polk Audio CSiA6 //

Wow, basically no titles...I will just set the filter and turn it off if needed.Haha, no the PS3 is a fantastic media player and if the OP owns an iPod it is a nice feature and can be convenient at times but the navigation is slow as sin on the Pioneer and not all that robust.
Not quite ready to ditch my PS3 yet. I have been a little lazy in extracting all my CD's, but as Mantis noted the iPod conection on the 05 could help me avoid filtering altogether.Receiver: Pioneer Elite SC-05

It is a great feature to be able to connect my iPod and iPhone while offloading the DAC to the receiver but of you have a lot of music on the devices like myself, it can take quite a while to navigate through all of the music.// Panasonic AE8000 // Pioneer SC-57 // Polk Audio RTi A9 // Polk Audio CSiA6 //
