surroundbar 360 hooked up to receiver?

Has anyone tried to hookup the surroundbar 360 speaker to a receiver instead of the dvd/amplifier console? I will likely have to cut the speaker connector cable to get to the wires?

I'm thinking about this option because when I watch shows or sports events with a lot of dialog, the effects/explosions are much louder that the actual dialog to the point where i need to turn the volume really high to hear the dialog. (I'm sure other surroundbar360 owners would agree with me here as I have seen a lot of post in this forum complaining about the same issue)

I'm hoping that using an amplifier/receiver could fix this issue but I'm not sure if it will work.

I've had my unit replaced by polk 3 times already but the center channel seems to be really weak.

Too bad i can't trade it for a surroundbar 42 or 50.

    protegeFive,

Unfortunately you can not hook the surround bar 360 speaker bar up to another receiver other than the console that originally came with it. If you can please contact either me or the customer service supervisor Kim via telephone to discuss this issue, We may be able to find another solution for you ;)

I have the same problem. Turn the volume down for the sound effects, turn it back up when the dialog re-starts. I didn't know this could be fixed. It happens so frequently, my wife and I decide before watching together, who will be the volume adjuster.
