Hello everyone!
Let's say I have this choice (second-hand speakers, prices in Canadian $):
PSW 1 - $90
PSW 10 - $90
PSW 108 - $100
PSW 250 - $120
Which one should I get? Or should I rather get brand new PS10 for $200?

Honestly, flip a coin, there ain't much difference between them.
There is not such thing as a PSW1
The PSW10 and PSW108 are the same sub, 108 was for European market originally.
PSW250 is older, and only 8 inch vs 10, but it might actually have slightly better build quality than the others.
None of them are going to give you any real output below 40hz, they are not very fast or tight, and they will display audible strain if you push them very hard.
Since you are in Canada, look for used PSB, Energy, and Mirage subs. MUCH higher quality in general. Save your money and look for a better sub. Those will be a disappointment. When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

Thank you, guys! I'll do that then. Special kudos to @rooftop59, who so far answered all my questions asked on this forum.

I would assume they’re a big upgrade. But I would personally look for a good deal on a dsw pro 550 or 660.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es; Squeezebox Touch with Bolder Power Supply

Polk sub are good value subs if you're spending less than $250 on it. More than that it's HSU or SVS. if you can find them in Canada.
What kind of deal are you getting on the HTS subs up there? When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

If you’re still looking and there is one nearby, you could get a Velodyne CHT-10 (or 12, not sure if there was a 8 inch version), it plays pretty deep (about 30-25 hertz), and sounds really good too, I should know I have one.
Other than that, all the suggestions above are great subs, I just thought of this one since... well, I’m looking at it. There are others that are probably better, but I like this, and I think it would be a good choice. -
You can buy a NEW PSW10 from Amazon for $90 shipped (not sure about Canada though).

It barely qualifies as a sub. Almost nothing below 40hz (a good pair of bookies can dig that deep) and it will chuff and distort and very high volumes. It was my first sub so I understand if that’s your budget, but I would take my $ to craigslist first imho...Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es; Squeezebox Touch with Bolder Power Supply

My friend had a PSW10, and we thought it was amazing. Then I got my Velodyne vx-10b, which was twice as powerful and actually sounded good. The Velodyne was around a hundred watts, and I remember me and jace taking apart the PSW10 and the rating on the magnet said it was only like 50 watts.
I also remember that it had this issue with a plastic piece in the port that would rattle at any volume above halfway (which with that sub, was all the time) so we took it apart and cut it out.
Long story short, don’t buy it. It’s good if you have to buy new for some reason and you only have a small amount of money, but otherwise, just don’t. -
I think the PSW505 is on sale for a little over $200 right now, right?

Yep, just found it. Though I did read a few reviews that say it doesn’t sound great, but if you just want your sub to go boom, this is a good option. Heck, even I’m thinking of buying this sub for my basshead moments (come on, you all know you have a few moments where you crank the bass to max to see how many pictures fall and windows break ) -

I agree you can do better. But he was looking to pay $90 for a used one and you can get a new one for the same price. Thats the only reason I "recommended" it.

Based on driver size and frequency response and price, I would do with a PSW505 if you must go new. Depending on your room and calibration system, it can dig into the low 20s hz. If you are willing to buy used or can DIY, the options will open up quite a bit.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es; Squeezebox Touch with Bolder Power Supply

For $300 I would save a bit and go to one of these

or get a 505. The 505 is a great sub for under $200.

A bit out of your price range but I have the SE version of this sub and love it for both music and home theater.
