Clamps and weights aren't just for leveling warped records. They help keep even a flat record secure on the platter to reduce resonance or vibration that might sneak through.2 · -

Sounds very frustrating. One thing I will say is that a clamp is better than a weight. The weights can cause damage to the tt drive bearings since they are not meant to have the extra weight on there…1 ·
