You can also use the local base 7n7 which is identical electrically to the 6sn7 except the pins are loctal and the pinpout is different, but there are adapters available. They are pretty cheap to try.1 · -

When you get a DAC with an overbuilt power supply, a great output stage, and Galvanic isolation , then you will really hear a difference great measurements or not.2 · -

Sounds like a bad filter capacitor, if it's doing that even in the previous outlet you were using.1 ·
