If I can remember correctly I bought the M117 back in 1989 ish for $1200, the TP117 was about the same price. Was listing to them over the weekend and they still sound clean, though now i uses an Ipod as the CD in. I have had the amp internals cleaned up at the local repair shop who removed any signs of corrosion from the terminals, which did help. If i could find an Rc501 I would run the whole house on the Tp117 with 4 amps.
