I'd rather be a spoiled 10 year old than a crusty ignorant, opinionated, can't spell worth a damn, e-forum know it all.

What is so amusing is that you can't seem to comprehend nor address my replies and avoid them with ad hominem attacks and wannabe audiophile conjecture.

Still waiting for you and your buddy to backup your previous claims...........

Until then you just appear as a desperate bunch of blowhards.

I accept your retort as a total concession that:

    A. You can't back up your claims with facts.

    B. You can't cite where I made the statements I asked you to cite.

    C. You still can't take the time to spell check your replies, in addition to lack of fact checking. How is anyone supposed to believe you are credible when you can't even string sentences together properly past fourth grade material or display any modicum of intelligent debate?

    D. You are a font of fortune cookie sayings that you don't follow.

    E. You fail at backing up your argument(s) with nothing other than cow dung.

I hate to interupt a good conversation with a silly question, but has any one had the pleasure of owning one of the classic ESPIRT series of the early 80's?for example http://www.thevintageknob.org/SONY/sonyesprit/TAN900/TAN900.html. They were certainly leading edge designs for the time and apparently sounded quite good. Some models fetch a good buck on the vintage market.

XJRGUY, it's time to shut up. You are out of your league. The fact is that many folks have invested in and appreciate a hell of a lot more gear than your simple Sony reference point has aforded you.

BlueMonkey, you have no dog in this fight. Move on.

No to your question on the Esprit line, but that is a great site you mentioned.

Lots of good high res pics and info on vintage sony gear.

According to you? And what authority are you on anything other than poor character judgement and uninformed assumptions?

This is a SONY ES thread by the way so I am well within my right to discuss Sony.

And again, you win the prize for ignorant post because you ASSUME that my "simple Sony references" are all that have afforded me. You don't know me and I don't know you so STFU with your ad hominem ignorant accusations.

Until anyone backs up their claims about the preamp vs. receiver as pre amp, Mr. Dave, all of you coming in here to dogpile on me are nothing more than the blind following the more blind (and DEAF for that matter)

BlueMonkey owns Sony gear so I would say that person does have a dog in the fight.

Why did you come in here anyway Dave? What knowledge are you spreading?

From my vantage point, absolutely NOTHING.

Its nice see such detailed pics, its hard to believe Sony was building those back then.I have had the oportunity to see inside some of the big amps of that era from the likes of Bryston,Krell,Threshold ,Hafler etc.IMO the Sony is atleast their equal construction wise and actually better than 2 of the ones I mentioined.

So, the tags you added, "jagsrule" and "xjr owns 1" are just another lie like your claim of owning high 5 figures worth of gear.

    Hilarious!

What tags are you talking about?

I owned a Jaguar, what's your problem? Did I say I still owned it? WTF is your problem?

I sell the car and I am supposed to change my handle because of that? You are ridiculous.

I do own the gear I stated I do. Believe it or not I don't care.

    Keep trolling *******.

You still haven't addressed your preposterous claims here.

What do you drive, what big bad preamp do you own, Mr. Anonymity.

ZR-1 is an awesome car, no doubt.

Now is definitely the best time to witness the rebirth of the horsepower wars!

Right now the Viper ACR is the fastest street legal car over at Nurburgring.

I don't own an ACR, rather the SRT10 but if I were to choose between ACR and a ZR1 I'd take the ACR.
    :D

Lets just hope the domestic manufacturers stay in business to continue to produce these awesome cars.

The new 2010 Ford GT500 looks killer.

From reading this thread, I think that quote is what happened to this thread. An adjective, “high”, was inappropriately used. If “high” had been left out of the sentence then, more than likely, all this nonsense would not be happening.

If F1nut had simply said “I can’t believe a “high” five figure system is possible with Sony ES equipment, since I consider “high” to be anything over $50,000.”, and XJRGUY said “Yes. I should have said “a low-mid five figure system”, then a lot of this nonsense would never be posted. But, I suspect the usual suspects would find another subject to exploit.

The GT500 isn't close to 6 figures unless it's a GT500KR or some other special edition tuner or limited edition Ford version. (oops I just re read and saw you are in Canada, my bad)

The prices on almost all exotic/sports/High power pony cars have hit the **** bucket due to the economy.

I've seen GT500KR's on ebay for as low as 75K buy it now.

The new 2010 GT500 will have the 540HP GT500KR engine but a better interior (subjective) and freshened sheet metal.

I've driven a GT500 on several occasions and it's a great car but I love my 2004 Cobra (Terminator). It will also be more rare than the GT500 once the production figures are all said and done.

It's a great time to be a car enthusiast!

No worries, I edited my post earlier because I saw you are in Canada and I am guessing it might be approaching six figures up there.

Very cool, hopefully you got a chance to try it out.

The chassis on the new Stang is leaps and bounds ahead of the past Mustang vehicles.

I've read that guys with the 5.4L replace the Roots blower with a Twin Screw and get 750HP with the stock block. Amazing!
