Integra DTR 7.1 receiver.. any interest??

I am considering selling this fine receiver, This ain't no Circuit city special

I bought this about a year ago, then the list was $1300.00
THX cert, dd, dts, dts es, ex, 100x6 external amp for 7.1 needed.. I have the box, and packing and manual.. This was sold to me by a local hi-fi shop.. it was a B stock not refurbished.. I was told it was for a blemish or something, They don't know exactly when they get them, works great and looks great.. never did find any marks on it.. has the learning remote.. with small lcd screen on top..

I would really like to get $675.00 or best offer.. what i consider the best offer, not the current offer.. so i will shoot down offers as they come until i get what i want.. or it doesnt sell, good enough??

Your description doesn't mention it, but looking at the newer version Integra receivers (DTR 8.3), there is an intriguing feature called Net-Tune. Does your receiver support Net-Tune?

I was thinking the pioneer elite was better for my setup, vsx45tx... and was told that was the reason for my 70's being bright?? So i thought i might get a different receiver..

I was also once VICTIM of RTi70's brightness. To get rid of the brightness I had to add a separate amp and am using my receiver as Preprocessor. I would suggest you to try a separate amp with your receiver. You can start with a 2-channel amp for you mains and then can add amps for your surrounds. You should be able to get a good used 2-Chanel amp for around $200 on ebay.

Agreed with izafar, also trying some different interconns may make some subtle to obvious changes in the direction you want to go with the sound.

Thanks, I changed from junk wire to monster 14-4 bi-wire and that actually calmed down some of the brightness, My wife even noticed.. I also did upgrade all my interconnects to AR's.. however i am sure better ones are out there.. Its not bright on movies thank goodness, and cd's might be caused by my cheapo pioneer dvd player.. really i should get a better cd and dvd player. was still looking at pioneer elite dvd's and cd players.. and the brightness of course is only at pretty high volumes.. i just turn the treble control down and it gets better

So you are using your DVD Player for 2CH music. Are you using the DAC in your DVD Player or your receiver? In my case I have always found the DAC in my receiver to be brighter than the DACS in DVD players that I have tried so far. So if you are using the receivers DAC, get a good analog interconnect and try the DVD players DAC.

how do you use the dac in the dvd instead of the receiver?? analog interconnect?? I have all 3 hooked up, optical out, coax digital out and analog .. i never use the analog though.. figured the digital coax was better.....

if you use the digital out (coax or optical), then you will use the receiver's dac. Using the analog output, will utilise the player's dac.

Good move, Faster. That's mint AVR.

You might even try the M1.4 bi-wire - very laid back but detailed highs - not the least bit sharp and the Lowe's stuff I was using before had more brightness in comparison.

What kind of DACs are in the Integra?

You can only use the DACs in the DVD player if it has analog outputs. I use this feature on the DVD-2900 for DVD-A and SACD, but I could also use it for good old 2 channel stereo, too.

The 2900 and the 3803 employ the same DACs, so the sonic signature is similar in my case, regardless. It's just that SACD and DVD-A require analog outputs.

If you have hooked both analog and Digital cables between the receiver and DVD player, then you need to configure you Receiver to use one of these. I think your receiver would be configured to use Dig Coax for DVD input. Simply go to the input setting for CD and select analog. Also connect the analog cable from DVD player to CD analog in on the back of the receiver.

With the above configuration you would be able to do A/B testing when playing a CD in your DVD player by just switching the inputs on your DVD player. I think your integra has an inteli volume feature that set the gain for each input. Just set it to 0db for both DVD and CD inputs.

Lets us know what you discover with this test.

Yes my receiver has a input button as well as on the osd to flip between the inputs, analog, coax1, optical1 so on, I have tried both and the analog does cut it down a slight bit.. and also i have the analogs plugged into the cd, and i use coax for dvd playback.. Thanks guys.

I called Integra and it was like a top secret question about the dacs, Customer service said Burr brown, and the website states
DACs 96kHz/24-bit x 8

so let me know what ya think??
