Thanks again for everybodies replies. My choice between the two amps has just been made easier as the Carver has been sold. I'm going to jump on the Adcom though.

I've been debating picking up a multichannel amp also. I'm considering the Adcoms y'all have been mentioning and also the Emotiva XPA-5. Any feelings one way or another between the XPA-5 and the Adcom multicahnnel Amps?

If you decide to go with a Carver, go with something like AV705 ;).

I have both and both have been running for a long long time. They each have their own sound signatures. Would I say one is better built than the other. The answer is NO. Both of the designers are legendary and great innovative individuals. Build quality is not the factor, what your ears like is. Both were affordable for the masses. Both are high current with no lack of slam.

OR....if you're going to consider Bob Carver multichannel amps, if you can swing the cash...THINK SUNFIRE !! (way too rich for my blood though!:()
AFAIK no one can match Sunfire in the price/performance ratio.

I'm picking up a TFM 45 this evening, supposed to be 8/10 on appearance and recently checked out 100%. I'll do a comparison with the 35 and the Luxman M-117...loser goes to the FM. I wouldn't mind going all Carver, but I do love the Luxman...we'll see.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE
