    Welcome to Club Polk.
Just a friendly note that you should read the Forum rules for selling on the Club Polk Forums: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37769

More like drop 2/3 off the 600 for a realistic asking price.

This whole thread should be deleted and you should be banned for breaking the forum rules and you knew you were doing it!

Let's give him a break and assume he did not know the rules. He asked to have the post removed and didn't raise hell about it. That's a legit response.

CL ad now asking $300, I think he honestly didn't know before, and has responded in a cool way. IMHO

    +1

And FYI, he did take nadams advice and cut the price in half.

In agreement here..........I have made the same mistake on other boards...I am sure I have never read 80% of the rules here to be truthful.....I do see the benefits of buying and selling to established members.

    Derail note :)
The edit function really needs to be a function.....then those who made an honest mistake could correct them.....is it that hard to fix???

The edit feature is not broken, its only available for 20 minutes after the post. It used to be available all the time, but the admins/managment made a decision to limit it for on ereason or another. It doesn't seem likely it will change any time soon. The poster can send a request to the mods or admins to request the post be deleted or edited.

Thanks to those of you who defended me against a berating post! I know nothing about speakers, someone just told me what to post it for, and then someone responded to the cl ad and suggested I post on this site. Didn't know the rules, just signed up and posted it, would be happy to just delete this!

So why didn't they get put up for sale in the classified section. He may not have knowledge with Polk pricing but knew he was breaking forum rules.

By the way welcome to the forum and I hope you stick around even after you sell them!!
I doubt you'll stay but hope you feel welcome and I mean no disrespect.

Several of us who attended Polkfest in MD were ASKED to refrain from attacking a new person who happens to find the forum and want to sell something and may not have done it the right way. They also requested that we try to pass that information on to the rest of the members. mmadden28's response in post #2 was all that was needed. From Polk's standpoint you were as much out of line as he. BTW I'm just a messenger...not my rules...and a couple of the higher ups at Polk were very adamant about this.

In that case, the 25 post rule should be abolished.

There was serious discussion of that.

AGAIN...the point was it was ok to deliver the message that it was against the rules...BUT...do it in a nice way.

The guy evidently bought Polk speakers once. Polk hopes he will do so again. Getting attacked on CP might hinder that. They have a point and it is their forum.

I thought I was really kind in what I said, except in my first response I forgot to say welcome to the forum. Being of sound mind I do understand where they, polk md, are coming from but the lies aggravate me but gotta say some of the guys had good stories/reasons for bypassing the rules.

I'm curious, what is the rationale for the 25 post rule i.e. why 25 posts?

Over at the Carver forum it's 50 posts:eek: and the rationale is that hit&run sellers trying to run a scam of one kind or another, won't be patient enough to make all those posts, and move on. They now have a buy/sell section for newbies with a strong "buyer beware" recommendation.;) Geoff

Yes and it works amazingly well. Definitely something we should have here.

This ad cracks me up and is an excellent example of how not to sell an item.

I mean, one look at that pic and who the hell is going to buy them!?!
