LP to CD

I am going to attempt to make CDs from some of my LP records this weekend. What is the best (free) software out there to do this? Thanks!!!

    There's a member here that's making some LP to CD samples to share with us polkies. You can ask him what he's using, though it seems the process takes years.

    Thank god you found it Ricardo!!! With minimal interruption to our daily musings here on CP :D;):):p:D.

    I did learn how to get chicken grease off cd's if I ever eat Xtra Crispy original recipe while spinning some cd's. :D

    I use Nero on my computer, but it's not free.

    Audacity is a free program I've heard is pretty decent.
