Has anyone ever purchased anything through "6th Ave. Electronics" or "Electronics Expo"? While these online retailers are not the most established or known, compared to a say Crutchfield, they are listed as authorized dealers on Yamaha's website. Still, I like to do as much research as possible. Any info. you all may have is appreciated...

Right after I post this I am also going to check the BBB...

Check out Reseller Ratings at http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Electronics_Expo

They do not list 6th Ave. Electronics

Both are reputable. I've purchased from Expo, my brother from 6th Ave. No problems with either, but beware that 6th Ave will try to upsell you on warranties, accessories, shipping, etc. Just go for the low price and stay firm.

Thanks for the feedback. 6th ave received a satisfactory from the BBB also.
They are selling the Yamaha 1800 Receiver for just under 800.00 plus 40.00 for shipping...probably because Yamaha just came out with the rx-v1900.

You may want to check if they are and "authorized dealer" for Yamaha. Some manufacturers will not honor warranties unless purchased from an authorized dealer.

Did you call and talk to a salesman? They always quote me higher prices than the website, that's the one thing that has always annoyed me about them, other than that, always quick service, and always double boxed.

Right now it's $763 with FREE shipping:

    http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=YAMRXV1800BL

Type in the code AFL5, for another 5% off, making it $725.

As he said in the first post, they are listed on Yamaha's site as authorized.

Awesome...Thanks WilliamM2 for the code. I make have to get this now...I don't think the price will go much lower. I need something more modern to drive my RTIa setup for HT due my current Yamaha is almost 9 yrs. old.

Tell them you are a AVSforum member and you usually get a better price. I have used 6th ave with no problem, however they do have a short (7 days) satisfaction policy. Took me a month to get comfortable with my Denon so bone up on what you are buying so you can determine in a week if you like the product or not.

They have a 30 day return policy. Don't know where you got 7 days. Though they do charge a re-stocking fee on non-defective returns for refund, so I agree that you need to know what you want. Defective items can be exchanged for 30 days, no charge.
