I am toying with the notion of going with an entire line up of the rt55i's. Should anyone have a a pair in 8 - 10 condition or better please feel free to e-mail me.

Yes, they were made in Ebony. The three finishes were Black, Cherry, and Ebony. Although Cherries are rare, and I've never even seen an Ebony, so good luck Danny of finding a pair. But then again- this would be the place to do it.

GuitarheadCA - The reason you have never seen an Ebony RT55i is because they were never made. The three finishes they were available in were Black Oak (what cscsDanny is looking for), Cherry and Maple. I have seen quite a few in the Cherry finish and most are the Black Oak and I have seen very few in Maple.

cscsDanny - If I thought I could do any better for the money I'd sell you mine...but I really like the RT55i (one of Polk's most underated speakers IMO) so I guess I'll pass. Good luck on finding another pair.

Thanks shack, You're right. I remember it had three finishes in the polk catalog, one was black, the other was red(cherry) and the third was really light, I just got mixed up on the light one.
