Harmony One Volume

I recently added my preamp (Marsh P2000) to the Harmony lineup. The problem is -- the Harmony volume steps are too high. If I press the volume once, it changes the volume by several decibels. However, the preamp's remote works fine. Right now I'm using both remotes. Is there a fix for this?
Another problem is that the sources don't correlate directly. For instance, when I want to listen to music and I use the Harmony, the Marsh will stop at "Tuner" or "Video" instead of "CD." The Marsh preamp is in the Harmony database, so I'm assuming it's coded correctly. Will hard coding the buttons fix these issues?
Thanks.

I have the same volume issue with my Harmony 890 and my Adcom 750 preamp. In the "troubleshooting" section of that device you can say that the "device is responding to some commands too many times" and set that setting lower, which helped me a bit. It's still not perfect for me though, and I can't get the fine adjustment I'd like.Speakers: Polk LSi15

This trick worked for my volume adjustment (I set it to zero), but the remote is still having trouble with input selection. It's a minor annoyance, though. I have to use my preamp for HT (no HT pass through feature), and I have to manually adjust the volume anyway, so I can also adjust the input manually, as well.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub
