It's a throw down show down folks! Which will win the battle for the honor of being in my new HT? Has anyone compared them? I have found a couple reviews on each one but not a lot and I am always suspect of online reviews. I do have a Parasound HCA 1200 which is pretty nice. Is the 2205 as nice? TIA fellers :D

Well this is down to a preference thing. I think both amps are probably in the same class with their own sonic signatures. Too bad its so hard to get your ears on something in your own setup. You could always buy both, and sell the other;)

O.k. I despise and abhor brightness but I don't want veiling or mud. The Parasound is terrific on the low end and has a nice warmish sound that I do like. (The HCA 1200)

There you go. If you can't do both I would stick to what you know;)
Of coarse there is that little voice that says there is always better(sorry I added that):o

What about just adding an HCA 1500 to my HCA 1200? and let the receiver carry the surrounds?

It's really going to come down to what speakers you are using it with. I'm a fan of both brands, but if it was LSi's and HT mainly, I would go with the B&K without a question. LSi's and mostly music, then I might lean more towards the Parasound if the 2205 has a similar sound signature as the HCA-1500.

    So what ya building?

I'm no Parasound fan but they make very good gear. I perfer B&K over them every day and 3x on Sunday when I have my feet up.
I perfer the warm natural powerful sound of B&K.
