2 Channel 200w + for my RTi12's

After taking counsel from all of you brilliant audiophiles I have sold/convinced myself to buy a 2 channel amp to drive my RTi12 fronts.

So here's my question(s):

1. Needing 200w+ per channel what are my best choices?

So far i have been fed,
ADCOM
Audio Source
Nad
Outlaw

Please feel free to add to list and please include specific model numbers if you can.

2. In doing my reading there seems to be 2 different ratings. The first is W continual. The second breaks down by ohm. So which of these do I need to be 200+ for my RTi12's?

Please forgive the simple nature of the questions. Pretty soon i won't be a NEWBIE, I promise!!!

Also, sadly I did not win the Powerball later tonite, so if possible, please keep the reco's to what a reasonable man with a decent job would invest.

RTi 12's........................Front (Black)
CSi5............................Center (Black)
RTi6............................Surround (Black)
FXi5............................Rear Surround (Black)
PSW 505..................... Sub (Black)

Undecided on receiver at present, leaning toward Denon 3808ci or Onkyo 875

As you can tell this is a work in progress, thankfully it is progressing FAST!!!

    Here you go (adcom GFA-555) - no powerball required :D. (timing is, however, since it won't last long at that price - No affiliation though)

    BTW - the rating you want at 200 is 8 ohms continuous with all channels driven 20hz-20khz. With some additional research, you will find that the 200wpc is not a be all, end all spec - rather a rough guage to go by. There are quite a few amps under 200wpc that rock - but not many inexpensive ones. Personally I would take a Krell KSA-50 (50wpc) over most 200wpc amps offered today. (but I am odd that way and its not like you would save money by purchasing the 50wpc krell)

    1. I would add B&K to that list, nice high current amp that compliments the RTi nicely.

    2. Your speakers are rated at 8 ohm so you would look at an amps rating at that resistance.

    Don't get too hung up on power ratings, you can find amps at lower wattages that would make you happy. There is a B&K ST2140 on there now that would sound great and is reasonably priced. You probably already know this but Audiogon.com is a great place to look for used gear.

    Another vote for Adcom. Don't pass up a good deal on a 545, or 5400 either.
