HT system needs a Pre/Pro

I'm building another HT system at the house. Gathering all the needed equipment while I'm on the road working and having it sent home. It will be like Xmas when I get there. So far I have the following items secured for use:

Samsung LN-T5781 57" LCD
Parasound HCA 2205
Sony BDP-S500 Blueray
Tannoy Sensys DC2, Sensys DC1, Sensys DCC (5.2 for now)
(rears to be determinded later)
2-PSW1000's
Monster 3600 MKII
Various Cables & IC's


I need a good pre/pro to hold me over for a little while while I recover some funds from this spending spree. I'm looking at the Onkyo 805 right now. I have a budget of around $750-$850 in mind. Let me have your thoughts please. I've found the 805 for $675 and the reviews seem pretty good for this unit.

    If you aren't overly concerned with HDMI, I have a B&K Ref 50 S1 in your price range.

    I'm not sure you can find better build and sound quality for the money. Balanced outputs, awesome PC programmable Universal Remote, 5.1 analog inputs.

    Original box, manual, remote, etc.

    The 805 is a good choice if you are concerned about the new audio codecs with your BR player. The only complaint I hear is that they run pretty warm, I wouldn't keep it in an enclosed cabinet.

    I do want to ba able to take advantage of the new blueray player and have all the available codecs for it. I like the 805 for the use of XM radio. This is another one of the features that is pushing me in this direction. The cooling won't be a problem since I'll be using something like the VTI stand which is open. I hear the newer NAD pre/pro's are nice also. For a few bucks more I have a friend who can sell me a new Integra 9.8 for around $1000.

    If you don't mind refurbished, eCOST has it for $549 for Silver and $589 for Black. I have also found at shoponkyo.com for around $500 but they didn't last long.

    I'm addin Ben's Outlaw 990 to the mix for now. I hope this sounds ok. I looked at these a few months back,but I was concerned with the unit being able to automatically recognizing the proper format...DTS?, Neo?, Dolby? and so on. I'll give it a shot. This kind of works for us both. Ben needed to move it and I need a Pre/Pro and wanted to try this.
