That's cool, thanks. Your last fix solved all my problems, the stereo button was just a curiosity. Now that the AVR doesn't switch to Dolby PLII Movie all the time and will leave a DD2CH signal untouched, I'm completely happy with the receiver.

FWIW, Harman never got back to me. You should be on their payroll.

You'll find, alot of us in here, have actual experience with products , instead of just reading a troubleshoot page on a computer, as most CS do.:p

That has to be the most infuriating part of a tech support call - I always try to convey basic competence with whatever component I'm having a problem with yet it still takes 5 minutes or more to get to the meat of a problem.

My wireless router pooped out the other day, and I had to convince the Belkin tech that I'd tried unplugging, resetting, and reconnecting the cables already. In their defense, 9 times out of ten those simple fixes are the solution, but still... one tends to figure these things out as calling tech support is never any fun.

They sit at their desk. Type the problem you have into their PC's and whatever answer the PC gives them, thats what they tell you. Very, very, very few CS's have actual experience or first hand comunication with technicians.
