As summer approaches and temperatures rise, the Outlaws have been hard at work to cool things off with lower prices on our surround processors. Think of this as a little price relief while everything else is heating up.



Model 990 and Model 970 Price Reductions


Although prices are going up across the broad spectrum of consumer goods we have now received our final shipments of both the Model 990 and the Model 970, and we've been able to negotiate price reductions with our suppliers.


Effective immediately, we are reducing the price of the Model 990 to $699, a $200 savings off the current price. When this award winning processor entered the market it received rave reviews and numerous Editors' Choice Awards at a value price of just $1,100. Now, as we continue development of its replacement, the Model 990 will remain an unparalleled bargain at $699.

At the same time, we're reducing the price of the Model 970 by $50, to an incredible $549. With these new low prices, there is simply nothing else in the market that can even come close.

Also please remember that ALL original owners of either a Model 990 or a Model 970, regardless of when their processors were purchased, will be entitled to a $200 discount off the price of any new surround processor for 6 months after the new models begin shipping.

The Next Generation Outlaw Processor

As many of you know, delays in the delivery of key DSP chips from Cirrus Logic have slowed development of products not only from the Outlaws, but also for many other companies as well. Because of this situation, we've changed the product road map for our newest flagship processor. We are now well along the path for a new surround processor that is based on dual Texas Instruments DSP chips, along with other key high-end components. We estimate shipments of this new processor to begin late this fall or in early winter.

By switching hardware platforms, we have given the new product the robust computing power required to include a revolutionary new technology. When it is available, we expect the Model 990's replacement to retail for at least $1,400, twice the new price for the Model 990.

When you add all of this up: a significant price reduction on the Model 990 and Model 970, the $200 discount on our new processor later this year and the traditionally high resale value of Outlaw components, there has never been a better time to buy an Outlaw surround processor!

Price Increases On The RR2150 and Model 2200 Starting July 1st

Although we've been able to reduce prices on our processors, we've unfortunately had major cost increases from our factories on the RR2150 RetroReceiver and the Model 2200 Amplifier. Therefore, we want to give you some advance notice that effective July 1st, we will raise the price of the RR2150 by $50, to $699. The price of the Model 2200 Amplifier will be increased to $349. If you've been on the fence about either of these models, climb down now and place your order today!
