It's the best upconverting player on the market today (including Bluray players), but I wonder if anyone's actually buying them at this price?

    It's a dead format, why would anyone spend a 10th of that price on an HD-DVD player of any kind?
    If...
    Ron dislikes a film = go out and buy it.
    Ron loves a film = don't even rent.

    i'd spend $150 max for an xa-2 or an a-35 to use as a backup in case my existing a-35 dies. i didn't sell (out) my existing library of hd dvd's.

    Marketing creating supply and demand urgency for the HD diehards...I would bet there are a few out there with HUGE HD libraries that will spend the money to gain longevity.

    Would I do it? No.

    got one used on ebay for $150 2 months ago.
    Don't care about HDDVD.....DO care about the build quality and SD upconverting.....Superb!
