I have the chance to pick up the Carver A-400X for $100 locally. A gentleman is selling for his son who has recently moved away and he believes it works just fine.

Anyway to double check when I pick it up without speakers?

Do you think it is worth it? Does anybody have any experience with this amp?

I cannot find much info on it from a google search and this board.

Thanks!
Mains - Polk RTI-12 (cherry)
Center - Polk CSI-5 (cherry)
Surrounds - Polk FXI-5 (black)
LFE Sub - Velodyne DPS-12
Main Amplifier - Carver TFM-35x
AVR - Denon AVR-987

If it works, and looks good cosmetically, it is definitely worth $100.

I'm not a Carver fan, but whether or not you will like the Carver sound is a personal choice. It should be easy to get your money back, and probably more, if you decide to sell it.

Any update? Did you buy it?

I own three of these amps. I could always use a couple more. If it's still for sale and you don't want it, have the seller contact me at junk666email@hotmail.com.
