I recently got the Onkyo 805 the price was to good at Onecall,& was wondering would I get tru dolby hd & dts ma if the disk has it with a Samsung 1400 & my Panasonic 10a thanks
My HT set-up Panasonic front proj, 120 in ws screen, ATI amp,Integra 9.8 pre-pro, 2 Polk rti150, cp 1000, 4 fx 1000, Pioneer blu-ray 2 SVS sub pb 12-ultra 2, & Paragon popcorn popper. ps 3 Coaster leather HT recliners.

    You can bitstream the Samsung to get DTSHD-Master or TrueHD. With the BD10A, it internally decodes TrueHD and sends it as multichannel PCM. So, you won't see the TrueHD light up with the Panny, but it is getting it none the less. The BD10a won't do DTSHD-Master.

    Thanks,that sux about Pany but theres not alot of dtshd or ma.Now if I could get the Samy to play certain blu-ray movies its been set in for repairs but still has problems.Samsung needs to be sued or get there sh-t together!!!

    How much did you get yours for? I just ordered one from ecost.com and it was $598.90 including shipping. Can't wait to test out the loseless audio.

    400.00 back in Nov I think,when it plays the pq is A+ std or blu-ray

    I love my 805, had it for about a month now. I only use it as a pre/pro with my PS3 as I run all outboard Adcom amps but the the TrueHD and DTSHD-MA tracks are awesome. Just watched "The Golden Compass" which has a DTSHD-MA 7.1 audio track, it's f'ing awesome.

    I AM USING A PANASONIC BD-30 BLU-RAY WITH AN ONKYO 805. I JUST GOT THE 805. SO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS THAT IF I AM WATCHING NATIONAL TREASURE 2( WHICH HAS TUE HD ) THE TRUE HD LIGHT ON THE 805 WIL NOT LIGHT UP? I JUST GET A DOLBY D EX DISPLAY. I HAVE 7.1 POLK SYSTEM THAT ROCKS.

    No, the BD30 is different than the BD10A. The BD30 will bitstream all of the advanced codecs (TrueHD/DTSHDMA).

    The trick is to have the BD30 set to Bitstream all, turn off secondary audio, sound effects, etc. There are threads at AVSforum to help you if you have trouble.

    Bottom line, with the 805 and the BD30, you should see TrueHD light up and DTSHD Master light up (w/the right disc of course)
