What are you guys using for a battery backup on your projectors? I can find battery backups all day long but what I'm looking for is a really small unit, with maybe 1-2 outlets on it. Something like the Monster surge protectors that screw directly into the receptacle. If there is one out there, I sure as hell can't find one. I hardly ever have problems with the power going out when watching a movie or gaming but with all the rain we got last night the power kicked off then back on while I ws playing COD4. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using an APC 750 UPS on my Sanyo PLV-Z2000. I have a lot of brownouts, and the APC has worked well. If the power goes out completely, it gives me enough power to properly turn it off and let the cool-down period pass.Equipment list:
Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
Epson 8500UB 1080p projector

As you know I have the same projector as you and I was wondering if you know how much a power outage would shorten the life span of the lamp. The power has only gone out once since I have owned it and on average I would say the power goes out once a year. Should I be concerned?// Panasonic AE8000 // Pioneer SC-57 // Polk Audio RTi A9 // Polk Audio CSiA6 //

No way to say how much it will shorten the lamp life. With my previous Z3, I had 4 outages before I got a UPS... but I had 3,400 hours on the bulb before I replaced it just for safety's sake.
I'd be more concerned about the LCD panels not properly cooling down (they have heatsinks on them for a reason)... which is why I recommend a UPS. It's a minor investment compared to what you paid for the projector.Equipment list:
