Interesting that no one has responded, I think it's a worthwhile question and I'd be interested in any discussion. With all the equipment the Club members have you'd think everyone would be using Prontos or Harmonys.
I'm still using Universal Remote Control's MX-700/800. I like being able to program it myself on the PC. The MX-350 Osiris for $150.00 would be my logical replacement but I would like color and a rechargeable battery. You just don't get that for a bill and a half.
I have heard great things about the Harmony 1000. It solves the color/battery issue for me but is still lacking in 100% programmability. $400+ is a lot also. Hopefully someone else will chime in with some alternatives.Sony 60'' SXRD 1080p

How are the universal remotes? I am new to the home theater stuff and never had a universal remote before.
Will the remote control all the features of my Receiver? Will it control the PS3? -
There was some discussion of this one on here just last week or so. You might be able to find the thread if you search for it.

I just got an email from amazon for a $100 dollar mail in rebate on the 1000. That puts it at 250 when all is said and done.

I don't think you can go wrong with Logitech,....their website remote programing process is excellent, as are their products and customer support. I've been using their Harmony 880 for years and am very satisfied. Will go back to them if I ever need a new one.....and it will support your all your receiver functions, play station, etc.B&W 804s mains
