    Welcome to the forum :)

If you would like a survey you may want to post a "Poll" which is an option when using the "New Thread" icon.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I've never heard studio speakers but know that most are designed for near-field listening. The ones I see most is the Yammie with white woofers. Let's not forget that some speakers are used in both studios and homes. Remember those M&K ads in your Stereophile mags that lists all the studios using them?

The best monitors are the ones that are powered...Tannoy and Mackie are pretty well respected for delivering true-to-recording sound quality. For the money though....my Polk LSi9's can keep up pretty well with the best near-field monitors and cost much less

PS - Personally if I wanted to do some critical near-field monitoring, I'd get a sweet headphone amp and either the Sennheiser HD600's or the Grado RS1's. Just my opinion though...

Have you listened to the Behringer truth amplified monitors?
They sound great and for the price I would put them up against speakers twice the price!

I agree, they're garbage. IMO, a used pair of Tannoy dual concentrics are a much better bargain.
