Hey guys, ran into a good deal on the Sunfire 5200 as they are being discounted. I can get it for $400 more than the xpa-5.
All new equipment!

Sunfire 200 watts 8ohm each channel
400 watts 4ohm each channel

Emotiva 200 watts 8ohm each channel
350 watts 4ohm each channel
This would be powering my LSI Theater that I have.
Thanks

LSI C
LSI FX
80 fx ls for atmos
Velodyne SPL-10
Marantz 7012
Panasonic 9000
JVC 420

    Yep -- Emotiva.

BTW -- the parent company for Emotiva has designed Sunfire pre/pros. Not sure about their amps, though.
HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50” LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Early, have you heard the XPA5? I'm curious how it compares to the lpa-1. Since I have a 5 channel setup, I'm wondering if it's worth getting the xpa 5, or just stick with the lpa. I've been debating this sunfire as well, since it seems like a good deal.

Yes, I've demoed the XPA-5 and I basically agree with what this guy said when he compared the XPA-5 to the LPA-1. Read this: http://www.affordableaudio.org/EmotivaXPA-5.pdf

FWIW -- I still have my LPA-1, but plan to get the XPA-2 once it's available.

I was extremely impressed w/ the LPA-1 when I owned it. Paired it w/ a 5channel Energy Connoisseur setup, and it really woke the system up. I don't doubt the XPA-5 would do just as incredible a job.

    Save your change... go Emotiva.

You don't have to put a hit on someone from that "deal you couldn't refuse" right?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Not to hijack this thread, but does anyone have any opinions/experience with the xpa5 and the parasound 2205? I'm analyzing my budget to see if I can swing the parasound right now. Based off the reviews and private messages I've read it sounds like a fabulous amp. But is it worth the extra $400 or so over the xpa?
