For anybody interested in upgrading or installing a IEC socket to facilitate power cord upgrades, with some help from Har and my own research, here are the best IEC sockets on the market, http://www.furutech.com/accessory01.htm
If the female end of the power cord is copper, then the Rhodium socket is the way to go as the copper would leach through the gold plating on the Gold socket and the fact that Rhodium conducts better than the gold plating. These are priced at $11.00 each.
