    I bought a Gen 4 to do just that, but have not yet got around to sending it in yet. If you send one in before I do, let us know how it works out.

    Check out this link. You can get a 5gen with IMOD and dock cable from a single sourse for $575. It is an apple refurb so I presume it has a new battery and fewer issues than a used one.
