My New Lsi7s need some wattage . . .

I'm thinking a good integrated amp would be good. What about tubes? Would something like the Onix SP3 have enough power? Somewhere between $500 - $1000 would be reasonable.

What are you other Lsi7 owners using?

    HK 3480. Just light bedroom usage for movies and some music. Sound very good. Way better than the speakers I've had in that room before.

    I have an SVS 10" sub handling the low end. Good setup for little dough. The whole thing is budget / value pieces.

    I'm sure the Onix SP3 would do very well with them. Pretty much any solid amp should do the job just fine.

    LSi7 will shine with less than optimal amplification, unlike its other siblings.

    Onix would drive it good, IMO. Any amp with good characteristics of low-end slam would be something that I would focus on.
    I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    +1 on the 3480. I know it's not 'high end', but I'm using it with mine and it sounds great.

    Currently a ~68wpc gainclone that I got for $160 + some stepped attenuators I got for $90, $250 and it sounds phenomenal. I have used a HK with them which worked pretty well, Cambridge 640A was a really nice match for ~$300 (if memory serves me).

    I've run the LSi7's with the NAD C320BEE IA amp section (same as in my C720BEE receiver) and they sounded pretty good. I believe Doro still has one for sale in the FM. I agree on the comment that the LSi7's aren't as fussy on amplification as the rest of the LSi line. I would think any good quality IA in the 50 wpc to 120 wpc range, with good dynamic reserves would do nicely. I think Arcam IA's have been mentioned before as a good choice. I would think the Cambridge Audio IA's would also work nicely. I haven't heard the Onix, but it has a good reputation for sound quality.

    The Onix would work fine. That's an easy speaker to drive and no need for tubes.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    Like Andy and Danny have said, the HK stereo receivers are some of the best sounding pieces out there for little money. I remember there was a NAD integrated also on flea market that would do wonders with 7's as well.
