Pre-outs to tv coax input?

I have a Denon 3805. Does anyone know if I can take the preouts from zone 2 along with the composite video output, run it through an rf modulator so that it outputs via coax cable and hook that up to a distant tv to get picture and sound? I am thinking the tv will take the place of an amp and that will work but I'm not sure and wanted to get an opinion before I start messing around.

    There is a really easy way to do that. I have a TV mounted in the garage for controling the stereo and CD player. I use one of these for the video, it has a coax output on the reciever. I also use it for the remote extender to control the setup from the garage.

    The picture quality is really good, I don't run audio through mine, so can't comment on that. I have the speakers wired directly. I got mine through ebay for about $35.

    The cables already run so it's no big deal and what I want is to be able to watch a different source on the distant tv if need be so that wouldn't work anyway but thanks anyway.

    It's plugged into Zone 2, so I can watch a different source in the garage. That was the whole idea, I wanted to be able to control my CDR-HD1500 from the garage, while the wife watches TV/DVD's in the living room.

    But if you have already run the cable one of these should work fine.

    Yep, that's essentially what I had already. I used the coax out on the Dish receiver in to the kitchen and when we wanted to watch dvd's, I took the coax off the dish receiver and plugged it in to the rf modulator that had the dvd inputs run to it. But with the addition of the ps3, I wanted to use the Denon as a switcher so I didn't have to switch the composite inputs between the ps3 and dvd, I just wasn't sure how the preouts worked. Turns out that works just fine, I was just trying to find that out before I messed around with it, which is a bit of a pita. The only other thing I had to do was make sure I had composite video inputs for each of the sources as the Denon does not convert video signals in zone 2.

    All is good for now, just waiting on my amp :)
