What's your favorite audio output cable to use from the Dock Connector Port to the left and right RCA audio inputs on an amp?

Is this just a regular mini to rca cable, or does the iPod use a proprietary interface? If it's a regular cable, something like the Audioquest cable sold on AudioAdvisor would work nicely...

Nope. The iPod has a port on the bottom that is supposedly superior to the mini jack.Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend. -
Funny...Apple marketing at it's finest...
Sorry, can't help you then... -
There's a regular headphone jack at the top, just use that like everyone else.
I've never heard anything about the bottom being "superior". It just incorporates all the charging and computer interface into it.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Check head-fi.org, tons of threads over there on this very thing. ALO seems to be quite popular.

I have a dock for my iPod and it has S-video, the proprietary USB connector, and 1/8" jack. Just get a mini to RCA connector. When you put the iPod into the dock it will set the iPod to line level.// Panasonic AE8000 // Pioneer SC-57 // Polk Audio RTi A9 // Polk Audio CSiA6 //

I use the DLO dock, couldn't be happier with it.

I bought the Xitel Hi-Fi (before the price drop
) and I love it. I feel the sound quality is the best you can get out of an ipod, it keeps it charged, plus you have a remote control and video out. It also sets the ipod as link level with is nice since I run it through my pro/pro. -
I'm getting a quote from someone on Head-fi; however, the Xitel looks pretty interesting. Thanks.Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend.

The bottom is better due to the line level that the others mention... I don't know about the current generation, but on the older ones you could definitely get distortion from the headphone jack w/ the volume all the way up.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

Fair enough.
That Xitel mentioned above looks like a great deal for the sale price of 40 bucks. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
