Then I found this gem:

I mean, I was about to buy this HDMI cable from monoprice; it looked really good. But the Monster one is high speed! What was I thinking; and I can get it at such a discount too from buying from CL. I just avoided serious catastrophe...

What is faster than light speed? That Monster cable must travel at ludicris speed.

I know, once I get the Blu-ray player in the mail from dholmes, that monoprice cable is going to be my next purchase. It looks really good and the price can't be beat.

breath in, breath out.. calm down.. it's gonna be ok bucko! ;) whew.. never knew speed was important for an HDMI cable.

as someone here used to say.. those that don't know.. don't know, that they don't know.

I feel so much better now that I know.. sheesh! ;) you know what I mean?

If you think $100 is expensive for an HDMI cable, try $1,000 for a pair of analog interconnects.

Zingo. I know lots of people like Monster cables, and in some types of cable I am one of them.
I also want to tell you that as far as hdmi this cable will be as good as the best cable you would get from Monster.

    http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-RP-CDHG30-High-Speed-Cable/dp/B000G62F88/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1206749589&sr=8-2

This cable is 1.3 certified, it supports 10.2 Gbps, and 1080p and it is new for less than 35.00$.
    Good luck

Oh, I'm well aware that some people like Monster. For me, they just are not worth the price for the performance you get; I feel I can get better elsewhere.

As far as the HDMI cable goes, that is a nice one, but when I can get one just as good from monoprice for 12.00, I think I'll go that route.
